Other than needing an HP boost, I don't see a problem. What am I missing?
They seem like regular fates. No one comes to the forums to complain that they missed Odin, showed up late to Svara, or missed The Four Winds for their atma book.

No one comes to the forum to complain they missed Odin because the loot you get from odin sucks. If Odin died in 10 seconds and dropped sands/oils of time people would be on the forum complaining about it. There were tons of people complaining about Odin/Behemoth when they couldn't see them on PS3 so I'm not sure why you think people wouldn't complain about them, they're just old/irrelevant now.
Hunts are working as intended to me but they have to make the difficulty scale to the number of people in the zone or something along those lines. As it is right now, hunt monsters are dying in 5-20 seconds and unless you get claim or are in a large party you don't get credit for the kill. The reason people are up in arms about it is because they were told that it would be possible (it is but not with things dying that fast) to get credit regardless of claiming/being in the party.
Additionally, several players have started using a 3rd party tool called ffxiv app radar in order to track the monsters when they spawn. Regardless of what some people might think that is cheating and it is against the ToS. The tool is not available to people playing on consoles so therefore it is not fair to those people who are on consoles and are unable to get any credit for any hunt monsters.
While I personally don't have a problem with the way hunts work, I likely won't participate much until the difficulty of monsters becomes something that scales based on the number of people doing it because it's simply a waste of my time if I don't get any credit for my participation.
What they really need is dynamic scaling to make them as difficult as they're supposed to be. Something I'm not sure the game engine can handle on the fly.
Having an opinion does not make you right or wrong, it simply means you have an opinion. Don't get irritated when people don't agree.
My only complaint is that it people who generally play solo are simply out of luck. You can try shouting for a linkshell but you're likely gonna be ignored. Nobody seems to wanna share info because people want to keep the spoils to themselves. In my opinion, B rank should have been left weak but put on a much faster spawn timer. Give the solo people a shot. Let the large, organized groups focus on the A's or S's. As it stands, the larger groups are going after them all.
They could take lessons from GW2, really.

Event (Or FATE if you'd like) bosses scale really well there.
The more players in the area, the harder they hit and the more HP they get. No, GW2 isn't perfect, either. It has a lot of issues (Probably more than FFXIV).
they could easyly do something like: 1/("number of Players involved" +1)=damage the Monster receives.
with that the Monsters would scale automatically to the numbers of Players and having more Players would be a plus: example
1 Player =50%dmg
2 Players = 33% for everyone (66% all togehter if they have the smae Standard dps)
3Players = 25% per PLayer (accumulates to 75%)
..
..
..
100 Players = ca. 0,99% per Player (ca 99% dmg accumulated)
With that the Monsters would scale and the difference between 1, 10 or 100 Players wouldn't be so big.
I don't think that a faster spawn timer would solve anything, people would just zerg the monster more often. The only way to solve the issue would be to have difficulty scale dynamically based on zone population or something like that, otherwise the monsters will still die in a heartbeat and solo players will continue to get no credit for their participation. Aside from that the only thing they could do is maybe lower the threshold of what counts towards participation which I personally don't want to see them do.
You also never see people screaming in /sh at players for starting before they showed up either? Wonder why that is....
Better idea: two b ranks per area, on separate timers.
I agree, just make everyone get full credit regardless. People might scoff at this idea but there's really no problem with it. People are not doing a lot in regards to these mobs even WITH the increased health. Basically normalizing "contribution" would mean is that less people are spamming flash and Medica.
