Looking for some end game advice, new level 50 here.

I'm curious as to what is the best way to get higher level armor? Also, I am almost finished with my Relic Weapon and am wondering if doing The Howling Eye (hard), and The Navel (hard) would be too difficult without higher level armor. (My current Ilvl is 53)

Get your Relic ASAP, unlock Crystal tower for the 200myth and work on buying myth/sol gear for your character. You can even try to join Coil 1 - 5 parties - but you'll probably want a bit more gear before you try tanking it.

Howling eye hard and Titan hard will be a challenge but just try to DF it and you might get a good group. (Or join a Free Company)

You should be closer to i70 for Titan HM.

Brayflox HM, Halatali HM and Lost City are all pretty easy and drop i70 darklight armor. You can also get carried through crystal tower and get as much free i80 as you want.

How many mythology and soldiery tomes do you have?

I had about 1300, I just bought the Valor armor and crown. Now I am going to grind out a bit more to collect more I suppose.

For Garuda HM and Titan HM it depends on your role. They can be particularly hard on tanks and healers.
They can both be single tanked if you are comfortable essentially sitting on the sidelines, but Titan will squish you at ilvl53. I think I was high 60's (mostly darklight) when I tanked it. That was before the echo though.
As mentioned, Brayflox HM, Halitali HM, and Lost City all drop i70 gear. If you are up to the new dungeons, they drop some nice i80 gear but are noticeably harder. And being an offtank in Crystal Tower is usually a nice easy run if most of the other people know the mechanics.

From here, just join up with a Hunting LS and let the myth tomes roll in! You can skip about 90% of all post 50 content just by spending some currency! In less than one weekend, you should be able to reach full i90 gear. No inbetween dungeons, no boring CT fates or dealing with the groups therein, and almost no grinding, no i60 to i70 to i80 progression. Since soldiery tomes are capped, it would take a little while longer to get fully equipped in that, but myth gear should be the easiest and quickest step.

So how do I go about joining the Hunting LS things then? My item level is 60 now, slowly getting better.

If you do your Daily Beast Quest and the Roulettes you will have collected enough Myth Tomes in no time to be equipped in i90 gear. Do your weapon upgrade as well. Don't buy the armor first but get the accessories. They have a bigger impact on you i-score. Then start on the armor.

At least that is what I found when I hit 50. I went after the armor 1st and found out that accessories where much harder to come by unless you have lots of money stored up. The Blue gear is 50/55 but at the time that I hit 50 my rings and stuff was still in the 40 range.

I'll leave this here: This post I wrote up a while ago covers all the stuff that is available to you in postgame, and will help you find opportunities to level, goals to set for yourself, etc.
