And it's begun on my server. Just saw someone spamming /shout to advertise selling Rank A and S kills for 100k.

I will ask for double the money if they dont get the kill and get me the reward. I would just stand there doing nothing in the zone since i pay for a service.
I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

Part of the problem is that players can attack a boss they do not have a bill for. So now you have players farming elites for seal and tomes. That is a mistake SE should correct. Make it like leves where other players can not attack a target that is not theirs. I used to shout out boss names and positions (macro) but now considering hunt LS's and players actually trying to sell spawns ( I can see some griefing here) I probably will no longer do that. I was only doing it so those that needed it knew it was up and where. As for FFXI, I avoided sky after a brief stint with a LS ( got to the point they wanted me to do dynamis and other end game with them only, don't think so).

Why do ppl think it's wrong if ppl make money through game mechanics?
It's like real life, people come up with a bussiness, and if other ppl like it they pay for it.
An mmo is like another world, another life, and you don't always need to play within the games boundaries
As long as it's not RMT or Scamming I don't mind it. I think it adds an extra level to the game

I think they were hoping for or more friendly helpful community. Players don't pay a sub to then have to pay another player access to stuff. Who knows who is and isn't selling currency? The point ie: like DF is you should help your fellow adventurer, instead of preying on them. When another player deliberately blocks another player from accomplishing a task with demand for gil, you don't see anything wrong with that? Pay me! No? F you I wont tell you where it is and just kill it.

How people run their linkshells is up to them. It's not an issue as some of you people are calling it. They can charge 1 billion gil for entry if they want.

It's an issue when these linksells are monopolizing said content with their zergs (and other things that you all know), even if there's some of them that are legit.

lmfao wdf.

Money make the world go ´round ^^
just don´t bother with them, get a LS which doesn´t take a Fee... just stupid xD
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...
It's funny because I did FFXI endgame for years during the KB/Fafhogg/Aspid and Dragons era and the most prominent claim botters were the small LS that had in their mind, just like you, that everybody and their mother used them and that was confirmed when the SE did the banhammer of the century in the Aht Urgan expension and yet nearly no one I knew (and I knew the leadership over every LS worth a damn on Bismarck) was banned but lo and behold, so many "innocent" players unfairly banned from their little endgame LSNot sure what game you were playing, but claiming bots were part and parcel of HNM in XI. If you wanted to get hold of any of them consistently you pretty much needed claiming assistance. Or some other shell with bots would beat you to the claim.
Of course this wasn't so much the case later on, but when Kings and Cerb/Khimaira/Tiamat were in full demand, you can bet your ass all of the top shells had people using claim bots. Serket is a daft example, it wasn't worth camping for any serious HNM shell. Nobody cared about NQ behemoth either, the only reason to kill it was to get ToD for the next window. Post Abyssea is was pretty common to see him walking around unclaimed.
And SE did learn from it, they stopped making ground HNM's in XI, or made them harder to bot claim e.g. Ixion and Sandworm.![]()
