The Hunt. Your Response?

The one thing I find so sad about the entire hunt system, is that it really brings out the worst in people.
Having someone say to you "I hope you die" after I waited five minutes at a b rank I found, then pulled when a huge crowd was there
I also find it equally sad their has been no official response to this, yes I get over the weekend they don't have active community reps, it's now Monday evening...

Hate them.

Hunts where one of the best features of FFXII. Here, they are living mess because of lazy and irresponsable devolopment and not having a clue on how gamers truly are. Lots of us saw all this problems coming when the hunts were explained. Is just a booring, zergfest race for a good prize. Is no diferent than FATEs for world bosses and it doesn`t actually add anything to the open world but people fighting each other via /sh.

Hunts are a failure, SE is the only responsable of this because is a system so badly done, it was no other way things could have turned that this one. This is by far the worst content made in FFXIV:ARR and it rivals only to the living story of GW2 is how bad it is. Is a slap in the face for all players who have been giving support to this game, SE. Thing is, is becoming common, Housing, Atmas, Alexandrites, Sightseeing Log and now this. SE is failing to deliver so bad and in a increasing ratio.

They really implemented it as poorly as they possibly could. There is so many points of failure across the system it's rather amazing.

The daily hunts give so few seals they're absolutely pointless.

Giving everyone the same Weekly hunt was an absolute masterstroke of failure, how they even considered that a good idea is completely beyond me.

No scaling for hunts was a humongous over-sight.

Not implementing the same monster priority as Odin and Behemoth for S Ranks.

The rewards are far too good.

Agreed. I've personally never been involved in these arguments, but I've seen people who were formerly friends/friendly (in LS's I belong to) literally aruging/name calling/blacklisting over these. It's rather sad.

I was doing an unbidden map in an obscure area near moraby, and the bat was up, I called out in zone the position for it, waited five minutes, but it was in same spot as my map, so I pulled it, and got so much abuse due to it. How long should I wait, 30 mins ? :/
Isn't nice when someone who doesn't even know you says "I hope you die" followed by "go kill yourself "

They need to ban 3rd party app players period. Using unfair advantage for these and the witch hunt its causing is making me hate logging in. Constantly being berated and called a cheater/botter/hacker while farming NMs legit is making me want SE to be more strict. I Blist rmt daily now im forced to Blist players from hate /tells

Interesting. Nobody seemed to care when I did it. Then again, as I said I did wait until the legion was there. So /shrug

May be in your case there weren't additional players still on their way but I've seen many where there is already a huge horde gathered but ppl are still pouring in.

I think it depends on how if SE likes the system as is, or if they are amenable to altering the system to fit the way the community has reacted to it.

It's obvious that A rank Elites are not designed to survive the barrage of 50 people. If SE likes the way that server communities have banded together to fight these NMs, I think they should increase the health pools of As and Ss proportionately. (I think Bs are fine as is) The S rank fights are fun and have some neat mechanics, but you still have most of the server there when they're up and they drop within a couple minutes.

So far, the hunts are awful.

They work great and are a lot of fun when they're hit as intended - with a small party on occasion. However, it mostly becomes a mess of the herd running in, death threats between players, new groups resetting monsters and denying credit to the original group, and generally terrible attitudes and behavior from a lot of people.

It's a huge mess, and it gives some of the best rewards in the game, though at completely nonsensical prices, so it's going to just continue being a huge mess until and unless it's adjusted.
