New content based on Final Fantasy V

Seeing the Crystal Tower and all the classic villains from FFIII came with their original stories, it makes me want to see content based on FFV, my most favorite classic game of the series.

Since Exdeath is known for his ability to control the Void and be able to travel between dimensions, I think it should be easy to implement. Krile, Gilgamesh, and Enkidu are already in Eorzea.

The Void Ark was a huge disappointment. I think the next casual 24-man raid should be a homage to FFV.

Well, FFXIV references all FF games, and there are already a few FFV references in the game as you mentioned. But as long as the fanservice isn't just tacked on for the sake of being fanservice, and is actually meaningful, then I'm all for it.

I would really like this. Perhaps a dungeon based on Fork Tower?
It could be like, an 8-man dungeon with two parties being in different dungeons yet at the same dungeon. They could even implement the physical/magic split to an extend by doing something akin to this:

    Party #1:
    Tank
    Healer
    Melee DPS + Bard

    Party #2:
    Tank
    Healer
    Caster DPS

How I'd imagine it to work is the first party fighting a boss while the second party fends off waves of mobs. The waves disappear once the boss gets defeated and then the second party fights a boss while the first fights waves, however if either party dies, it'll cause either the same boss/adds to spawn to the other party, making it more difficult but still salvageable.

This repeats itself like, once (each party fighting 2 bosses with the waves increasing in difficulty) and then both parties reunite for an epic final boss fight (maybe based off of Exdeath).

So in the end it'd work like:
Party 1: Boss -> Waves -> Boss -> Waves -> Final Boss with Party 2
Party 2: Waves -> Boss -> Waves -> Boss -> Final Boss with Party 1

Maybe this is a terrible idea, but I just wanted to throw it out there :P

I'd very much like this, but I'd personally prefer it if there were mix-ups and further splits as well.

What if the tower activates and teleport-swaps the Healer in A for the Tank in B. The healers and caster DPS have to work from the other tower to help the new, unbalanced team A.
Then it tries to kill the DPS by putting them in a tower together, this time keeping the healers from saving them. The DPS have to use the machines in the tower to stay alive, while the tanks/healers have to power said machines from their room.

Hmm. I'm sure there's more fun you can have with two parties of four.

I think a bard in each party would be beneficial. This would ensure the Heals is g2g on mana, plus the caster dps might need the assist.

Yeah that's what I heard also that FFXIV is a fan service for all final fantasy games.

They might say NO right now, that's because they want it to be a surprise to see something, which I like surprises, sometimes I wish they would do more cryptic ones with bosses.

Like when I was fighting in kingdom hearts when sephiroth first came down I was like OH GOD really nice then he beat the crap out of me.

I would really like them to setup a boss character get everyone hyped, then a OLD boss that is super epic, destroys the other boss and says no you are fighting me.

Everyones eyes pop out of their heads lol

An island disappear with Krile on it...
Void raid and ExDeath battle incoming.

I seriously think they already plan the next CT-like to be a FFV cross over with Krile's story.

Yoshida has stated at least once that once the Crystal Tower events are wrapped up, there will be another "throwback" set of dungeons/raids directly inspired by another Final Fantasy game.

Personally, V is my favourite Final Fantasy game (that job system is so good), so I'd be all for it. My personal choice would be a series of raids in the Cleft of Dimensions, probably fluffed in XIV as a civilization that, in communion with the void, accidentally got its entire island swallowed up. Many of V's most recognisable bosses appeared in the Cleft (Melusine, Azulmagia, Twintania, Halicarnassus, Necrophobe, Shinryuu, Omega...) and just think of the visual effects they could apply.

*facepalms* How in the name of the Twelve did I *not* catch that?

Note, I did get the whole Baldesion/Krile/FFV part, I didn't connect the Island disappearing to the Void and ExDeath. Heck, one of the places he hits is the Library, even.

Yeah, the Baldesian Scholars and the fact that Krile is Minfilia's friend implies that there will be some upcoming FFV content. Not only that, but it seems plausible considering that, like Final Fantasy III does, it also has a Job system. Which would infer that we could be getting more Jobs from that part of the story.
