    Honestly, the only way these "Hunts" will ever be balanced is w/ Add-Ons

    Why aren't they in the game yet? I remember reading back in 2010 or sometime ago that the devs had interests in making player add-ons available for FFXIV. Well, with the blow-up of the apparent application out there on the 'net that can serve as a radar showing a 360 degree view of the monsters around the player, I think the next patch is the best time to introduce Add-Ons to FFXIV. And the first one should be made by YOU guys, and it ought to be a radar that is automatically turned on upon start and easily toggled by the GUI.

    But that's just me. I don't know what you guys have planned for this game any more. Making Syrcus Tower gear drops limited to 1 a week, whilst making it possible to get a full set of item level 110 gear in less than a week, is just unfathomable to me. But who am I to judge? I don't make games. lol

    Everything needed should be inclusive in the game. Considering we have two console platforms that will not be able to use these same things.

    Sorry, as far as addons go? No.

    actually they have always expressed that they don't want to support add-ons. nor do they wish to release any official support for add-ons. also if an add-on is giving you a monster radar... this is akin to cheating. it may only be PvE, but that radar still gives you an advantage over others.

    one more thing... Hunts are fine. get a group and spread out over the map. and... Hunt! seriously, a radar would defeat the entire purpose of The Hunt.

    It's the same pattern as before... Coil 1-4... then CT for people who couldnt do it and get loot.. 1 per week so that the people who actually have the current end game on farm, wont feel like their weekly run is for nothing. Plus people who farm weekly for the pieces from the vendors... you can get one per week unless it's a main piece. (450 soldiery per week)

    The once a week loot for normal CT was removed 2.2, one patch after it came out.

    Turn 6-9, and now ST is out for those who cant get through the turns. Once new content comes out, the weekly limit will be lifted... just like in turns 1-4 and the first part of Crystal tower.
    It's allowing an endgame goal of getting through content and getting rewarded... then for the more casual side who can't do Coil current content, they release CT so they do not feel left out.

    "They are coming soon" for addons. There are certain types of addons *cough* Radar, parser *cough* that alter gameplay of others and can be taken as a form of harassment. ((Yoshi has been very adamant about "There will be NO dps Parser". ))
    So chances are they are working toward allowing certain addons... There can be many different issues with allowing addons, from wanting everyone to be able to use them and having difficulty implementing it.. To breaking something inside the game and working to fix it, and tons of other things that can, and will go wrong.

    A feature created by SE and turned on by default would, by definition, not be an add-on. It would just be a game feature.

    What's more, if it weren't created by SE, a radar would be quite unlikely for add-ons, since the basic information it uses would have to be publicized through the game's API for add-ons. That wouldn't happen unless SE agrees that it's the sort of thing that's appropriate for some players to have and others not.

    When/if we do get add-ons, they're likely to be given the same sorts of information we all can access already. They might have info on, for instance, our inventory, stats, buffs, etc. The add-ons could then choose different ways to present that info to us, according to the add-on's author's preferences. But they're unlikely to be given any data that players without the add-on couldn't get. This is all the more true since the game is out on consoles that wouldn't have access to add-ons.
