In XI you could at least claim, there was no delusion about being able to make it to an NM or not. You either got it or you didn't - the fact that you CAN hypothetically get to every single Hunt in this game is what makes people WANT to get to every one.One of the many problems with hunts. Mob stealing.
Their entire vision of fates was to avoid these types of problems because of how bad they were in XI. Then they go and implement hunts in such a way that it brought all the same problems back. It's like they didn't learn anything at all.
I'm sure there was cussing back in forth in Balmung every hunt i come across is followed by it ending and ppl cussing and yelling and just acting like kids. You can grab popcorn as it's a sad show
Provoke does not work on hunts. Maybe it used to at one point.
My personal policy on marks is
B rank - Keep to yourself and your friends, don't shout it for the love of god
A rank - Shout and wait 3-5 minutes or until about 40 people are gathered
S rank - Shout and wait 5-7 minutes or until about 100 people are gathered. Pull immediately if the render limit is hit.
This content is dead on arrival and is creating nothing but negative experiences.
P.S. This is not my main...
Looking at some of the stuff they've been implementing, I bet a large part of FFXI's planners are wroking for FFXIV.
What happened was that they started getting feedback from the forums.
Implementing FFXI's claim system would just make it worse. Fix people being able to reset hunt mobs, don't implement a system that locks people out of the fight and that would just increase the drama.

I don't think hunts were designed to be mass server zerg'ed. If my party is lucky enough to find a NM and we can kill it, we will. We're not under any obligation to report or wait for other players, neither do we need their help. It's open world content, you snooze, you lose. Nobody is going to wait for you to finish your roulette/craft/travel/watever. And there are always player groups who will not abide by your "rules and policies" even if you decide to be courteous and share. The sooner the community realize this, the less QQ there will be. Its only because there are substantial rewards associated with them that is causing all the drama. In my opinion, you share/report at your own risk.
Deliberately resetting a mob tagged to someone else is a game mechanics exploit and should be reported. FATE mobs and hunt mobs alike are immune to Provoke to prevent this exact kind of behavior. However, the threat generation on tank classes is EXTREMELY high, so unless another tank has been contesting an aggro lead, it's trivial to do something like Berserk->Tomahawk the mob off someone who tagged it.
Regardless of how you feel about the ethics of sharing hunt marks, bending the implicitly stated rules of game mechanics is a no-no.
So with this, at least one nostalgia glasses has been broken. What's next ? maybe the dev can include them in the next patch just for shit and giggles.
Provoke works, but I'm pretty sure it's based on your party, not everyone on the hate table. So if the mob is half dead and you just show up and provoke, and nobody in your party has done anything to the mob, your provoke will miss. If someone in your party is not at the top of the hate table, you won't take top hate.Provoke does not work on hunts. Maybe it used to at one point.

Also those times are way off. A rank takes 2 minutes tops to get too many people there, S rank about 3 minutes. B rank just kill it, but wait for your party if you are in a hunting party.
Yup - If we take those words as truth (hopefully you got snapshots huh), then Mr. Happy's reputation just got a blow on it's jaw. He's no god on Eorzea. (nor is anyone)The shouts mainly consisted of them yelling at us for pulling the mob, even though we found it. Then they said Mr Happy wasn't here yet so they "needed" to reset it for him.
We don't care that an e-celeb of sorts isn't there for it, it was our find, we should at least get the credit for it. Some began to shout there distaste for Mr Happy. We accused them of some sort of cheat
to find NM's and they kept denying it, even though this was the 3rd NM I've had stolen from them, each in a different area with no one around it but me and maybe a friend.
He's trying to be helpful to the community by giving guides that takes 2 times as much as other ones to watch.
So let's say it's half-and-half as per doing it for us, or for himself.
Back to topic (Hunts) If we are all bounty hunters, it's the first-come first-serve approach in an open world, until SE would fix something about it (and they will, too easy to kill like the rest on maps.)
So you hit him, it's in red for you: it's yours, until you die.
I would report that provoke for sure, even If I am a Tank as well: poor attitudes or exploiting the system, that ain't in my book.
The Horde you mention, we have it on all servers: top FCs are spreading over all maps, and FC chat is their friend. Very easy.
