I been working on scripting for a long time since my early age into mmo's.
If files were altered. The launcher would not start the game. Therefore it reads the info from the database and gives approximate locations. Mmo's were and will always meant to have add-ons.

Not this one right now. Until it's not against the ToS cheaters using these programs are well...not people I will play with.
Now if SE said it was O.K in the next few days I'd use it. However I'd still dislike all the people who used it before then.
I didn't say parsers weren't against the ToS. Also I don't use parsers.
Well that escalated quickly.
Read both they are almost identical with no talk about add-ons in terms of service.
They only refer third party programs. So I see no point. The rage it's real even on inquiries

Third party programs are add ons, it is software made by a third party that adds on something to the game.
Well now we need clarification. Once a gm handles the thread.
Third party is anything. A lot of spectacles between pc and console gamers.
If you really do not understand that a add on program made by someone other than SE qualifies as a third party program, well you really should seek clarification from someone higher than SE...

I believe this falls under 2.5 of the Terms of Service:
2.5 Data Mining. You may not intercept, mine or otherwise collect information from the Game using unauthorized third party software.
In other words, while some MMO's may approve of some, FFXIV approves of none, and hence really none that infringe the ToS in any manner should be used at all.

Funny thing about the ppl using the radar program to find hunt marks. It seems to only search for the name and display the location. I've been running to remote areas of various zones after renaming my chocobo to share the name of a local A or S rank mark and get a swarm of ppl running to me within a minute. One of these a FC mate actually saw them teleport in at the aetherite and he followed them as they made a bee-line to my location. There was no shouts, emotes, nothing. Kept completely quiet about it and no other random players were nearby until the swarm arrived.
