I been working on scripting for a long time since my early age into mmo's.
If files were altered. The launcher would not start the game. Therefore it reads the info from the database and gives approximate locations. Mmo's were and will always meant to have add-ons.

Not this one right now. Until it's not against the ToS cheaters using these programs are well...not people I will play with.
Now if SE said it was O.K in the next few days I'd use it. However I'd still dislike all the people who used it before then.
I didn't say parsers weren't against the ToS. Also I don't use parsers.
You *do* know that if the players are abiding by fight club rules, you'd never know that they were using those programs, right? You could already be playing with people who use them.

They're the ones with 7 sands of time from the hunts already and show up within one second of a mob spawning on top of you. :P Pretty easy to spot the cheaters. At least some of them.
There's FCs on my server that brag about cheating all the time. But like I said in another thread, I don't think they'll get banned.

You could at least report them, so GM´s can examine the chatlogs...
if they openly admit it, they will see consequences for this...
problem of this app is, as stated several times, you can´t detect it since most is executed client-side.
And even ppl "showing up the moment it spawned" - well first question, how did you get there before them, and if they suspiciously show up all the time, maybe they are just lucky when touring specific spawn points they wrote down earlier on some piece of paper...
Still only way to say sure - when he makes a confession..
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...
As this is nothing new or in surprise, most people in the forums maybe are just concerned that they always get just general reply´s, rather than an official statement on how SE is going to handle a certain issue which comes along a certain Add-on or Plug-in...It has been long established that any Third Party Software used in Final Fantasy XIV [regardless of platform, situation, or intent] is a violation, and against the Agreed Terms of Agreement.
Evidence found of using such hardware can result in warnings, bans, and even termination.
-GM Shmanington
We all know the Radar-App is against ToS (and morality, which bothers more people than the ToS)... what people want here is to draw attention to this and maybe get some info´s about how this will be handled in future...

I believe this falls under 2.5 of the Terms of Service:
2.5 Data Mining. You may not intercept, mine or otherwise collect information from the Game using unauthorized third party software.
In other words, while some MMO's may approve of some, FFXIV approves of none, and hence really none that infringe the ToS in any manner should be used at all.
