    Launcher system error: 7. HTTPS Error

    Hello,

    Today I opened the launcher and am receiving this error message:

    "A system error has occurred: 7.
    HTTPS System Error."


    Everything on the launcher loads except for the area containing the login & password text fields.

    Solutions I've tried:

    Restarting PC
    Restarting Router
    Restarting Modem

    In Command Prompt:
    IPCONFIG /RELEASE & /RENEW
    IP CONFIG /FLUSHDNS

    I've checked firewall and internet security settings (due to it being an HTTPS issue) and I do not have any restrictions on FFXIV or Cookies, etc...

    Does anyone have another solution for this problem?

    Any response from Technical Support on this? What is System Error #7? If I just knew what that was I could try to go further...

    Got black screen in the launcher today. Can't enter password and play. No error messages =(

    Bumping again. The problem persists.

    I've also tried Compatibility Mode (running Windows 7 x64-bit) & Run As Administrator. No change. System Error: 7. HTTPS System Error.

    If no one responds I suppose I'll just re-install the game. I would really appreciate a response from Square support as to what System Error 7 is, or from another user who has experienced this problem and resolved it.

    Try give your Internet Explorer's settings a reset back to default.

    Thanks for the advice TheFirstKel. I reset IE & Chrome settings as you suggested, however there was no change in the behavior of the error. I'm going to re-install today.

    Follow-up

    I've uninstalled the game and re-downloaded the launcher. There has been NO change. There is still an HTTPS server error.

    I'm out of ideas and solutions now. SQUARE, where are you???

    I had the exact same problem also, but i got it fixed.
    It was caused by window not being up to date.
    You must install all the Windows Updates (around 120-140 updates to install) and the newest Internet Explorer. (Yup everyone hates it but Windows still uses it and same with the Launcher)

    Just a quick follow-up : I have all Windows Updates installed. I have only 2 "Optional" updates (BING DESKTOP & BING BAR), which I doubt would have any effect. Especially since I do not have them installed on my Windows 8 machine & laptop and they are both able to open the launcher.

    It's just my windows 7 machine that is unable to play. Figures its my main pc >.>
