Hello my fellow Phoenix friends, last night I came across a dude (message me for his name), he joined my FC and headed right for the chest, luckily I was smart enough to know what he was doing and kicked him fast but it wasn't fast enough as he managed to pocket half of our inventory in the chest. I know to lock stuff and all the important stuff was locked so he didn't get much, just stuff I leave open for new comers to help get started in the game, you remember when you first started and all you wanted was cool gear to help get you to level 50, that kinda stuff so not much and replaceable with a few k gil but to me it's the principle of the matter and I think people should know to watch out for him and others like him.
I wanted to start a thread with names of these thieves around Eorzea and help put a stop to them by spreading awareness about them so if you come across these sort of people then let the world know I say. Hopefully SE will do something about them.

I'd edit your post removing his name if I were you. Naming and Shaming is a good way to get a ban

Then why do SE tell me to use the forum? Not right to let people do this sort of stuff to others and people should know who to watch out for, if SE says to go to the forums with the info then why not name and shame them so that others are aware, the last thing I want is him to go and ruin someone's FC's game by taking all their stuff, it's obvious that's what he goes around and does, surly if this thread is against the rules then SE shouldn't tell me to post about it and they can remove it if so, I'm just more concerned that he's gunna go do it to others you know, how else will people know.

Personally the way i see it is if there's a ToC in place and you break the rules of that ToC then you should lose the right to be protected by that ToC, it happens everyday in real life where the criminal gets treated better than the victim, things need to change and people who do this sort of stuff should be named and shamed for it, how else is a so called community suppose to help each other if they're not allowed to warn each other of the threats towards them? I'm a player that loves to help people and seeing these sort of people ruin others games is out or order and for those who don't know, should know. The newspapers will be quick to name and shame you but legal wise its in favor of the criminal and that's just plain wrong.

If SE provided a share file link to post screenshots of "inappropriate actions" that are noted under the "Prohibited Activities in Final Fantasy XIV" then SE could evaluate each case more appropriately and hand out whatever punishment SE see fit for that case, such as 3 day ban, 1 week ban, 2 week ban, one month ban and even a permanent ban, maybe people would think twice and Eorzea could become a much nice community to experience the fun with.

The way i see it is if criminals are protected by the rules they break and victims get not justice and then threatened with bans if they speak out about it then it will actually make Eorzea into a more hostile place with less intent on helping people and more intent of taking from people as people will know that their info is protected under the rules they break.

With SE telling people to report people for "inappropriate actions" but then replying to that report to take the matter up in the forum community but not allowing to name and shame clearly protects the criminal in question, what sort of rule is that? If the victim then comes to the forum to question and let people know then SE could possibly disable the victim from the forum and game for breaking the rule of naming and shaming. (If i knew how to do an emote for a confused face i would) What about the rule that's been broken from the actual criminal that the victim is reporting about?
Lets take a guess NOTHING! The criminal is protected by the rules that he purposely set out to break and the victim is threatened with a ban if he/she speaks out about it. What sort of stupid process is that?

I think they want to make sure that no one is unjustly named and shamed or defamation of reputation when they didn't deserve it. Considering how many griefers and malicious characters there are both in the game AND in the forums, it seems most logical that SE and their "judges" should have the final say in who is truly guilty of their actions, and that takes time to investigate first.

By taking the law into your own hands, you put SE at risk for losing customers. And that will NEVER fly well. As for SE telling you to resort to the forums, that typical run-around speak given by EVERY customer service rep, and will ALWAYS get you nowhere.

The best you can do is report (which does an equal amount of nothing, according to many people) and warn your local FCs.
