Enmity issues post 2.3 Shield Oath changes.

    Thread Title:
Since the introduction of 2.3 having us keep our Shield Oath, it appears the previous "fix" to shield oath has been undone. Enmity is gained slower and/or lost far quicker in any instance that was fine before, regardless of party members.

Direct link to the official forums post having dozens of people mention they are having problems now, even when spectacularly geared themselves as Paladin.

    ISP:
    Ziggo

    Type of Internet Connection:
    DSL

    Internet Connection Speed:
    30Mbit/s

    Date & Time:
    At any time

    Frequency:
Always, able to reproduce in any dungeon.

    Platform:
    PC, Windows 7

    Character Name:
Surian Bedivere (ilvl100 Paladin) or any of the other hundred people who mentioned this in the links above.

    Race:
    Elezen M (But any race)

    World:
    Behemoth (But also any world)

    Class/Level:
    Paladin 50

    Area and Coordinates:
Halitali (Hard), Brayflox (Hard), Haukke Manor (Hard), Tam-Tara Deepcroft (Hard), Syrcus Tower and virtually any dungeon where you have three or more monsters on you at a time.

    Party or Solo:
    Party, 4 and 8 members

    NPC Name:
    None

    Monster Name:
Any native monster to those dungeons in small groups.

    In-Game Time:
Did not keep track, but at any time.

    Steps:
    - Entered the dungeon.
    - Said hello to my party members
    - Buffed up by the healer
    - Ate my food
    - Popped my Shield Oath
    - Ran out towards the first group of 3-4 monsters
    - Kept flashing, hitting Circle of Scorn, making sure to use the Rage of Halone Combo on all three of the monsters.
    - Kept checking the Enmity meters.
    - Enmity wasnt building up fast enough.
    - Checked my party members, there was nothing out of the ordinary and they werent even that spectacularly geared.
    - Continued to lose hate on every group of monsters throughout the dungeon.
    - Felt bad afterwards and stopped playing for the day.

This continued to happen several times afterwards in a multitude of dungeons. It doesnt seem to differ what you're fighting or where.

Alternatively, playing on my Black Mage with a Paladin tank had me encounter the same issues. I would see him flash and do the same thing tanks always do to keep hate, yet a few simple Fire II's yanked hate off him like it was nothing. Did not switch to either Bard or Dragoon to check those too, but i have experienced having those party members on Paladin as well and the same issues occured.

Other highly experienced people have been having the same problems in T6 and T7 of the Coil as well.

    Recommended Solution:

    - Set Shield Oath back to pre-2.3 settings

    and/or

    - Give Paladin a enmity boost to compensate on Circle of Scorn and Flash.

    I can confirm as well:

    * Since Patch 2.3, it seems Shield Oath changes (or something with Enmity and PLDs) have made it far worse to hold hate / gain Enmity with groups of monsters (with Shield Oath active).

    Playing on PC as well.
