Great. Will be happy to see those annoying macros in frontlines disappear.

All I want is to have a chat lock when changing chat.
Example: you are in /say chat, when your party member say something to you. you type /p [insert text], and then its locked into Party until you change it again with /fc or any other ones available.
That way, if you typed something that wasn't meant for anyone else than the person you want to send it to, the embarrassment if ever, that comes from making a mt, won't exist.
Like shouting and then you want to answer to an FC mate, to see it went to Shout >.<
Thank you.
Did you know that if you just use the chat channel command (like /say, /p, /l, /l2, /fc, etc) that the default channel will change to that specific channel? So, if you for instance type /p followed by Enter/Confirm, the chatbar will turn blue with the “Party”-caption in front of it and the text you type after that will defaultly be sent to the party chat. All I want is to have a chat lock when changing chat.

You can also click on the “Say” to change it to another default channel.
Edit: After reading your post again, I think you did know about that, but you're asking them to change the default chat channel after sending a message to that particular channel?

Credit goes to Niqo'te for her fabulous art in the "Nique's happy fun time!"-thread and Nix/Capa for the Caitlyn drawing to the right. \(^_^ )/
Give her your support by liking their art!
This is working correctly as intended. If you want to change (permanently) to another chat channel like Party just type "/p [ENTER]" and it will stay in that channel untill next change. However if you want to send (one idividual) message to another channel - let's being in FC one and posting to Party you'll use "/p text" to not change the channel - that's on purpose. If it would be changed as you suggest it will be not possible to send "one off" messages to another channels without constant permanent switching between them.
Yah it could actually make the chance of an MT worse...This is working correctly as intended. You can change your Keybind settings so that using alt+p or alt+f or whatever for switching chats, locks the chat into that chatroom. All I want is to have a chat lock when changing chat.

when are you guys gonna fix the "confirm" key so that it won't randomly trigger the enter-text command?? It's super annoying. And yes. The bug still exists because it doesn't work even if the enter-text command key is completely unbound with any key. Hitting the "confirm" key (most of the time happens when hitting it to attempt to engage a mob right after dismounting) it'll randomly go in text-command mode instead. Please fix this! Urgent! The bug's been there since alpha test phase!
Aww this sucks, I was hoping to figure out how this whole thing works.
I saw the below letters, and was like wow that's cool. It reminds me of back when i was a teen and i was hunting trying to find out how people were typing ascii stuff like ¥ £ ² etc etc. I'd much rather they find a way in between this situation. Find a way to keep it available to people that want to use it and show it off. But make a option for people to disable it, so it doesn't bother them.

I was wondering if it's possibly to add an extra tab that shows everything. It'd be nice to see my damage dealt while chatting with friends and not having to switch tabs.
you can have up to 4 chat tabs, and you can show or not show whatever you want in them.
to add more tabs you hit the + symbol
to edit the settings for the tabs either click the gear symbol on the chat section or go to Character Settings>Chat(this is the last thing on the windows version)
there will be a button for each chat in those settings that will bring up a window to who what it will and won't display
I'm not sure if this is the same on the PS3 version but fairly sure it is the same on the PS4 version
