Chat (Clickable names? Color?)

Hey there! Sorry if this is the wrong place ^___^;;

I saw this in King Moogle Mog, not too long ago... And I was wondering how does someone post names into chat that are clickable.. they dont do anything, but they have the brackets around the name.. and if you click on it you will see "No subcommands available"..

The ability to change chat colors is actually a bug that is planned to be addressed. We've been seeing players asking if it's okay to use these different colors, or if it's against the rules. As such, Hiroshi Minagawa, Lead UI artist, has posted a response about this that we’d like to share with you.

First off, the ability to change text color like this is in fact a bug that was not addressed during chat development.

After making edits to a separate feature planned for patch 2.38, this bug was coincidentally fixed, and with the latest development version of the game the ability to change chat color like this is no longer possible.

*Similarly, the bug that allowed you to use code to make special characters will also no longer be possible.

Patch 2.35, which will be released soon, will not have the above fixes applied yet, so it will still be possible to do these things.

As an official response from the development and operations teams in regards to whether these techniques should be used in the current version and patch 2.35, since these features have not been certified, we’d like players to refrain from using them.

If you are just having fun with a friend and showing off that you know something special, we don't want to say this is not allowed. However, with an MMORPG, depending on how you use certain features there is a possibility of disturbing other players, so we would appreciate it if you could refrain from using features that have not been confirmed.

With that said, we do not have any plans to release an official feature for changing chat color like this when sending messages to others. The reason being there are cases where it could be used to disturb others.

Well for players like myself some colors can be extra strain to the eyes when trying to read. I have had to leave a few runs due to players using this.

Exesive use of color in chat, at least for me, is very annoying more if i can't control it.

People use colors to differentiate chat channels (tell is a different color from say, which is a different color from linkshell, etc.). When players use alternate colors it can be confusing.

All I want is to have a chat lock when changing chat.

Example: you are in /say chat, when your party member say something to you. you type /p [insert text], and then its locked into Party until you change it again with /fc or any other ones available.

That way, if you typed something that wasn't meant for anyone else than the person you want to send it to, the embarrassment if ever, that comes from making a mt, won't exist.

Like shouting and then you want to answer to an FC mate, to see it went to Shout >.<

when are you guys gonna fix the "confirm" key so that it won't randomly trigger the enter-text command?? It's super annoying. And yes. The bug still exists because it doesn't work even if the enter-text command key is completely unbound with any key. Hitting the "confirm" key (most of the time happens when hitting it to attempt to engage a mob right after dismounting) it'll randomly go in text-command mode instead. Please fix this! Urgent! The bug's been there since alpha test phase!

Aww this sucks, I was hoping to figure out how this whole thing works.
I saw the below letters, and was like wow that's cool. It reminds me of back when i was a teen and i was hunting trying to find out how people were typing ascii stuff like ¥ £ ² etc etc. I'd much rather they find a way in between this situation. Find a way to keep it available to people that want to use it and show it off. But make a option for people to disable it, so it doesn't bother them.
