problem kiting mobs

my damn player keeps running back to the mobs when im trying to kite them on my bard and its getting so damn annoying now....wtf is going on with this crap.

You autoface whatever you are attacking when you shoot it, and your camera is set to follow behind you, so when you attack, you face the enemy, and the camera snaps around behind you and now you are running towards it. If you want to learn how to kite on bard, go watch some WoW hunter videos, you can learn all about jacking your character and camera at the right angles so you can run pretty much full speed away, but still auto attack behind you, and you can jump and spin to use your abilities.

You can turn auto face off. But yeah proper use of KB/M is better for kiting.

Try this.

Go to System > Character Configuration.

Change your control scene from; "Standard" to "Legacy".

It takes a while to get used to, but it gives you so much more freedom of control of your character making content such as Primals much easier.
(you will no longer "back-pedal" with the legacy option on, if you press [D] your character will run in the direction your camera is currently facing.)


Especially Titan, Leviathan, Ramuh and The Binding Coil of Bahamut.
