its not a matter of struggling,This is interesting because I hear my video card's fans cut down whenever the slowdown happens. I'd imagine if it was struggling to render something, it would work harder so the fans would speed up. But it seems that it's throttling down the performance of the card for whatever reason.
the framerate increases and decreases dynamically based on the amount of load applied. during a loading screen less power is required so the clockrate drops down.
because between teleport it forced 2d speed.
Getting this too. Would sure be nice if SE responded.
All right, I am SICK of no response from SE on this issue. I have just missed my FOURTH A rank today (and missed an S rank this morning) because of this bug. My friend with a 7970 also is getting this.
I get to the hunt, game slows to 2 fps, then crashes out. This isn't fair.
Literally giving Nvidia players the advantage on Hunts, or really anything that involves more than a dozen players.
Edit: would just like to add that I've missed 2 more S ranks and an A rank due to this bug since I posted. Two were in Outer La Noscea.

I'm having these problems too. AMD R9 290x. My problems occur 90% of the time during a teleport. If I cast teleport, mid animation the game crashes. About 20% of the time. The other 10% of crashes are AFTER a teleport, I'll be running around town then crash. If I never teleport I never crash. Same memory leak and same crashes though.
I've posted this bug report a dozen times but my thread gets closed because people stop posting. SE assumes your issue is resolved unless you continuously bump the thread even though nobody has ever responded.
To double check my hardware wasn't the issue I ran Furmark for 10 hours, 0 GPU problems.
I ran Prime95 for 15 hours, 0 CPU problems, and I ran memtest86 overnight, 0 ram problems.
My hardware has been stressed to the max and had 0 problems of any kind.
I'm running:
Windows 8.1 (all updates) 64-bit (clean install)
12gb 1600mhz DDR3 memory
Intel X58 980X extreme
AMD R9 290x catalyst 14.6 14.20.1004-140709a-173735E
Intel SSD
Also I've tried every AMD driver since the game launched. The problem has always been there, and no driver update has fixed it. In fact since 2.3 it's gotten worse.

Same thing happened to me, game crash/hangs during teleport. On a side not it only relates while hunting - of I tele to an area where there is no marks (ie not having 200 ppl tele there at the same time), usually there isn't a crash/hang.I'm having these problems too. I am playing on PS4 and i have some performance FPS drop in cities, or in the distance theres some dynamic shadow light effects or a lot of players![]()
Imma just play![]()
Console issues don't seem that bad though. Most of us can deal with a FPS drop occasionally. We're talking about flat out game shuts off problems, or game drops to UNPLAYABLE state. Like slideshow performance. I can deal with a 80 FPS drop to 30. I'd love to have that as opposed to teleport game crash when i'm trying to reach a NM.
Perhaps you people should begin sharing your in-game and ARR specific driver settings to see if you can find something common that could be the cause of the problems.
Even if you burn-test the hardware, there could still be problems with the drivers. Not excluding the possibility that it's game related, but since it seems to be primarily AMD graphics users that have the problems in this thread, chances point towards that there are driver problems.
Could be a game-specific driver setting, could be in-game graphics setting. Without more information it's difficult to pinpoint, and it would probably also help SE reproduce it.
I'm having this problem now as well. Just started today after a windows update. Trying to figure out where the memory leak is coming from. Its just frustrating because I normally run on max settings at 60 FPS. Log on today and its down to 8. So terribleBasically unplayable due to latency.
Also.. running through Steam. Don't know if anyone else is.
