Free Company Questions

So I recently became in charge of a Free Company (without even being aware of it). Now that I am though I am interested in rebuilding it. I am not sure exactly where to go with it though. I am definitely interested in acquiring housing for us. Any advice from people with experience running FCs would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

My first suggestion would be to recruit. You need to find more people who are likeminded and share the same goals as you. Also, you'll want to consider things like getting VoIP (TS3, Mumble, or Vent...I personally like TS) and a website (guildlaunch or maybe enjin). As far as making money for a house it really depends what type of players you have. For my FC selling primals and T5 was the best source of income. With that being said I know that isn't for everyone so maybe something like crafting might be a better way to bring in the $. Anyways hope I could be of some help. I'm Eden Marie in game. Also depends on where you want Your fc to be focus in. Different forums for recruiting help increase your potential, but I do suggest finding what you want your fc to be known for, raiding, casual, specifics to make your fc stand out. Bad Wolves is a place for raiders to learn and succeed. We help place raiders together of equal skill and give tips to our members to pass phases or handle mechanics. We are small, but I am proud of where I decided my fc to go. In the end of the day, take ownership and have a flavor, ya know. If you need help, Xion Arcadia is my ign. Thanks for the advice guys. I am going to give this some thought. In your experience what do you find to be the best ways to recruit potential members? I think I want to keep it a fairly small group of people (at least at first), but I definitely need to find some people.

Well once you decide what kind of members you're looking for you should come up with a recruitment macro. Here is what I use for example: Zodiac Braves <<Brave>> Recruiting active players of all classes for Coil, primals, dungeons, hunts, ST, pvp and more! Zodiacbravesffxiv.com or PST for more info. You can use something similar but of course rephrase it to match your needs. I go around to all the most popular hang out spots and /shout (Mor Dhona, Limsa, Gridania, Ul'dah, and North Shroud) Also, make a post here on the forums with what you're looking for and some information about the FC.
