Honestly I just wish for only one thing and that is to scale the stats on the monsters (HP, STR...etc)

Atm they are pueeny mosquitos that die by players merely breathing on them.

I can't even count how much gil I've poured down the toilet from teleport fees just to read the shout chat "dead"

While I cannot give a specific date on when personal housing will be implemented, I can say that prices will be completely separate from free company housing, and, naturally, far more affordable.

they stand up fairly well to a party of adventurers. what they don't stand up to is a battalion of us.

I feel its more of the initial wave everyone is complaining about. Open world content regardless of which MMO, will always be competitive. It can never be truly fair. However, since its new open world content, both casual and hardcore players are flocking into it, making it extremely competitive especially since gear is involved.

The thing is though, it probably is only going to be an initial surge thing, not a long run thing. Because its not capped, its more than likely, some people are getting their stuff faster than others which means eventually they will be leaving the hunts, meaning fewer and fewer players will be partaking in the hunts over the next couple weeks.

The fights that would be extremely hard for 8-16 players is easy for 120 players. However, this does not give room for arguments about increasing the difficulty of the content. We have seen many fates like those in Northern Thanalan in which were easy during the initial leveling mobs of players of the game but are now fairly hard for casuals if not impossible due to lack of numbers. These fights appear to be scaled for that, not for the initial mob/hunting parties that should die down in a few weeks.

Scaling like in GW2 for events was very neat but had a terrible flaw. When you scaled events it could backfire. If you had 6-7 incompetent players enter the fight, the fight is now scaled to 6-7 + you and the fight went from doable to impossible. This is something that most people don't seem to realize. Scaling is not a bullet proof design. We already see how many people die to the simple mechanics in this game. Scale it and most encounters are now impossible, especially for casuals that will pick up this game later on after this release.

I will wait a couple of weeks and see what happens. Its way too soon to be saying something is wrong.

Except there is talk that these people are going to be selling spots since they have a monopoly so others can get seals just like people sell EX runs and such. These people aren't going anywhere.

I'm still shaking my head at how blind or outside the loop a person can be with their own game.

I know for sure he was aware of the radar app and how it's turning this whole Notorious-- erm I mean "Hunted" monsters into something less of fun and more of a comedic joke to people who doesn't have a clue as to why A and S ranks are dying the second they spawn.

This system is a waste of time currently and being subjected to 7 seals a day is laughable when you see people netting well over 100 thanks to Yoshida's political views on apps.

Good Job dude, you killed content before it's even released.

Edit: No, I'm not upset at the players; I'm more disappointed in the dev team for something like this to even get the greenlight before testing to see how it could possibly end in disaster.

I can say these things anecdotally and subjectively as a participant in the hunt.

1 - I did hunts for about 16 hours and was able to obtain in the neighborhood of 830 seals and 1 dropped log book. I did this primarily with a full party of people trying their damndest to get to the marks that were called. Our main advantage was that we were pulling info from probably 6 linkshells, 10 FCs, and 3 full parties while talking in TS3. That was with only getting 3 S-Classes. If you are quick and your party is quick you can achieve a lot. It is more like Coil than most people think : D NO ONE that I know in that network of people was using a radar app.

    2. I had some people in my parties that were up for 40-50 hours straight hunting marks. I myself was able to stomach about 11 hours straight - but after I hit my goal of 1 Sands of Time, I called it very shortly after. As of right now, I just keep my eye out for S-class marks to spawn and make it there if I can - my motivation is pretty dead to spam hunts for now. I suspect that some others are feeling similarly and participation is going to die in not too long. If you think about it, even the hard-core people that got lucky drops of HA are going to be limited on the number of sands of time it makes sense to carry because they are only useful if you have the Sol to spend on the gear to upgrade, which is capped.

The best solution that I have been able to think of is to add seal drops to other places. I honestly don't think there is anything fundamentally wrong with the hunt system, besides the fact that everyone wants to do it : D - give us seals for frontlines, roulettes, and allow people to make at least 100-150 seals from dailies per week. Never cap them, but make everything just as time consuming. No matter the method, it should take roughly 10 hours to get 500 seals.

/shrug I think this will sort itself out, but with one of the best rewards in the whole game being exclusively available on a non-lockout basis from the hunts . . . there are going to be a lot of people doing them : D

Guess it's working out well on servers like Zeromus and Jenova? XD

People are saying that if they change the system that honest players are going to be punished in the crossfire. Personally, I'm 100% fine with that. I collected all of the seals I have now honestly but I wouldn't mind if they did a rollback... or something.

Honest players are already being punished by being turned off of this system.
I was on my way to fish in outer lanoscea the other day, and as I'm walking by I see a level 50 hunt mob.
My instinct is"oh boy!" but behind me I see a group of people already lined up to kill it.
Afraid that they'd probably rage/report me if I dared to touch it, I switched to my BLM waiting for my skills to cool down.
Unfortunately, by the time they did, the B rank mob was dead. I got nothing for being "honest" so I've given up until I SE changes the system.

Also the daily mob hunts are a joke. 1 seal per "set of marks" or 2 for a fate boss? Yea they sure cater to "honest players" in this thing.
