Is Parley playable with others?

I may have missed it but I can't find a way to play Parley with other real people. Playing with an AI is fun (although they're cheaters), it would be nice if I could play against my friends while waiting for DF or some other nonsense to pass the time.

Parley was an old minigame from version 1.0, and could only be played with NPCs (and only certain NPCs at that), and it's return in ARR is pretty much the same - it can only be played against the computer. Hopefully later on when the Gold Saucer is added, minigames that can be played against other players will be added, but for the future at least, it's not possible sadly.

What I want to know is how to gain access to the abilities. Out of all the times I played, not once have they lit up.

Pick same item twice in a row. It'll pick an random ability for you.

Yeah, I hope someday I can play with others. I would also like to receive rewards for winning as well. I really enjoy Parley, and actually find it baffling so many people complained about how they couldn't figure out how to play the game. Took me 2 turns and it immediately clicked into place...
