Name-Calling/Blacklisting Follows Every Mark, Hunts Bring Out the Worst in People

Dear SE, hunts are a great idea but the implementation has been very poor so far. I'm sure hunts were not designed around the whole server teleporting there to kill the marks. Marks die too fast, it's a joke, then players who didn't get credit start swearing and blacklisting people. Someone told me today they hope I get cancer (for example). Surely something can be done about this? Mark HP based on the # of players that previously engaged or something?

Dear Players, people can't wait until the entire server shows up at a mark. PS3 users will lose the mob completely on their screens when the crowd gets too large (sometimes not even pulling on purpose but still getting blacklisted/called names). Plus, only so many people can get a hit in and get credit regardless. If you want someone to wait 1 min, someone else behind you will want 1:30 and someone else behind that will want 2 min. The end result is that ALWAYS someone will be upset and rage at the player(s) who DID get credit.

TL;DR - Let's hope SE does something about this and soon. In the meantime, can't we all try to be a little more understanding of one another? And just a reminder, pulling a mark early is not against ToS but offensive language is. Thanks.

To be honest, I'm ok with people blacklisting me or calling me names for claiming elites. The only people I wait for are friends and party members or the small LS I'm in for hunting. I'm not about to wait for 100+ people to show up for a rank B or A elite. You barely get any credit for it even if you claim them, but most importantly, it really takes away from the fun of fighting elites with a small party. Have you fought a rank A with a small party? It's a lot of fun, actually; finding an NM in the open world and taking it on with strategy is pretty cool and makes me appreciate 2.3 a lot more. Also, the reason I'm ok with being blacklisted or being called names is because I would rather not play with people who are so offended that they would go through the effort of blacklisting me or calling me out on shout because I didn't wit for 20 more people for that rank B elite. People like that just aren't worth playing with. Maybe they're ok zerging 30 elites a day, but I like to enjoy myself.

I agree with you completely. I'm not concerned about being blacklisted. I just think this is evidence that hunts are generating a lot of anger, which is a bad thing for the game in my opinion. I posted this in another forum but I think one solution might be just to have marks disappear after a few minutes without being engaged. This is a soft cap on how many players can do the hunt and nobody can complain about players not waiting if the system is designed so players can't wait.

Why can't marks be only visible to you or whoever is in your party when you go to claim them? Kind of like when doing a Leve. It would be a lot more easier if that was done.

Their are two sides to this story, least on pheonix server, yes their has been childish name calling which shouldn't be happening, but their is also three people that turn up to every mob and brag in shout about how they won't wait and how they can go Fk them self
Name calling for not getting credit is bad, bragging your going to screw people over is worse

Here is what I do when I find a mark. /sh <t> @ <pos>. Pulling @ :XX (XX = real world time). Usually give 3 to 5 minutes. If someone wants to throw a tantrum, fine. I not only told the zone where the mark is but also gave enough time for the zone to reach it.

I like this method. It's nice of you. I think 3-5 minutes might be too long though because people get trigger happy as the group gets larger.

The only difference between this and back in ff11 claiming days, is full vs half credits. There is no rule that says you can't attack something or shout or even call ToD.

You're all hunters. Whether a nice world player, a scary hunting LS, or a lone FC only. It's your choice to slay it, call for help, or give it to the public. There's risk and reward to everything.

"Solve it among yourselves" Why Does SE have to play nanny to adults.

If you see a lone player go attack it, you can let him die. No solo player can win a A+ without a group. While if he has a backing of a group, then it's your choice to steal some credit.
This perspective makes sense to me also. Unfortunately, I think your way is the only way right now. I say "unfortunate" because I'd rather play nice and still get rewarded but hunts don't make nice much of an option.

You do know this is an MMO right? Not a single player game, sorry need to check because you seem to be confusing mmo with a solo one

Look at what you wrote. You're the one that has it backwards. Because it's a MMO, the playerbase is the one that solves these problems.

In what MMO is there a rule you have to announce your intention to kill something? In what MMO is there a rule you have to share? In what MMO is there a rule you have to even go HM hunting?

This is exactly why Yoshi didn't put a cap on it.

Hunters are...well hunters. Not hand me downs whiners

Hunt LSs will have to vet their members and keep information to themselves. FCs will have to cultivate information themselves. And random hunters will have their own strategy.

This is not a public event. This is a hunt.

Saying it's not fair is being childish. You can choose to give it to the community or keep it to yourself.

I only share my marks with my FC, and pt, I don't call out ToD, and I don't expect people to wait. I keep my information in-house, because i have no intention of turning that 20 seals into 1 seal.
