Long thread so sorry if this was already mentioned, but...
Maybe SE can 'disguise' the names of NMs, or hell, any mobs. Would prevent radar from doing much. I'm just remembering 'placeholder' mobs from FFXI; they were special, but showed up the same as everything else on widescan. Or using these placeholders for the Hunt NMS... I'm imagining walking up to a Naul with no visible name or level until he's attacked, then the 'real' Naul replaces it...

Even if they have ppl working over the weekend. Things wouldn't change.
Remember 1 week to collect data, 1 week of discussion, 1 week of coming out with a patch. At least 3 week is minimum before anything gonna change. By that time everything will be too fubar to be make a difference. Hell, by that time nobody will even care anymore.

Yeah, SE is too slow when it comes to this crap, many times something would come up right after a patch in Warcraft, they would implement a hotfix within a day or two sometimes to just hold things over until they got a real fix. I say they go in and shut off the allied seal vendor and remove the books as drops until they get it straightened out. That way folks will cap their seals, won't be able to farm books, so they will stop, the people that haven't been cheating will still be able to do hunts for seals, and SE will have time to get a solution worked out.Even if they have ppl working over the weekend. Copying from other threadThey dont have a way to track the app though. The person who is making it, however, has said that if SE complains about a feature of the app, it will be changed/removed so the app is still usable. So SE just needs to tell the dev that they dont like the radar part (which since its been in the app for months, I doubt will happen.)
The best band aid SE can do now is a Emergency patch that disable the HUNT part, till they work on a plan.Yeah, SE is too slow when it comes to this crap, many times something would come up right after a patch in Warcraft, they would implement a hotfix within a day or two sometimes to just hold things over until they got a real fix. Then againthey will most likely be bombed by EVERYONE for doing so. Those that are happy farming myth and stuff, and those they want to farm so they don;t get 'left behind"

Is there a similar thread about using third party apps in the Japanese forums? Aside from the question asked in the live letter earlier, it's still possible (though unlikely) that the issue hasn't gotten any attention due to it not being in Japanese.
Not that those forums SHOULD be placed above other forums, but I'm just saying, they take care of priorities in Japan first I'm betting. Maybe it'd be best to place a complaint about Hunt apps in ALL language forums.
Greetings, friends.
We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention. We value your feedback, and we are constantly striving to make the game an enjoyable experience for everyone. However, this thread has been closed due to the sensitive nature of the content. We strongly encourage players to report anyone who is violating the policies of the game. You are encouraged to submit a report directly to the Special Task Force to ensure a thorough investigation. We kindly ask that you always include the name of the suspect(s) and a brief description of the actions performed.
There are two methods for reporting directly to the STF. The first is an in-game process, found in the System Menu which can be opened by pressing ESC on a PC, or by hitting the START button on the controller if you are using a PlayStation. Once this menu is open, select the Support Desk option, then choose Contact Us followed by Report Cheating. The second method is to visit our Support Center at http://support.na.square-enix.com and choosing FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. Then, select the button labeled Report Bugs or Offending Players to access the reporting form.
Thank you for your understanding and best wishes to you,
FINAL FANTASY XIV Game Master Team
