Why can't I hide quests from the tracker?

I dunno if I'm at a loss here. I just came back to playing from taking a break since patch 2.1, and I noticed they added a feature for you to PRIORITIZE yopur quests on the tracker, but you can't HIDE them.

Am I missing something? There are quests which are long-term for me (like the EX primals quests are a clear example) and it's really annoying to have them on the tracker all the time. Is that feature implemented?

I know the ability to hide the quests was in Beta, but it still hasn't made it to the live version. The only work around is what you're already aware of--to just prioritize the other ones. =/

What's funny, is this ability was there in the Beta for the PS4 too. Then I think it went away on final release. It REALLY doesn't make sense.

I have a permanent imprint on my UI of the quest to beat up Titan EX. It's been there for MONTHS. I can't get rid of it. Please help me, Square Enix =(

You can simply remove the duty list from the HUD by right clicking it (when you are customizing the HUD).

Yes please re-implement it. The Beast of Brewers Beacon quest has been up on my screen since 2.2 and its really annoying as I an't seem to catch the fish due to horrendous rng and specific time/weather combinations.

I think the problem with that though is the FATE sync button and all info no longer appears. If I am not mistaken. I tried it, there was a reason it's turned back on

You are correct. If you hide the Duty List, you also hide the FATE info (and the ability to level sync). So you definitely need it on if you plan on doing any of that.
