They need to be able to withstand assault from at least 2 full parties for more than 30 seconds if they're going to be an open-world elite NM.

However, I'm still super glad that we have more non-instanced content and I will take this system over FATE and dungeon grinding any day!
Naul is designed to be solo killed, so obviously 9 people are going to blow him up. Though I've seen way more than 9 people fight over him. I suggest you go out and try some A rank and S rank fights as well. You'll not only see the same problems but you'll see it's very similar to FATE grinding as well. I think you might have more fun with them too. It's an overloaded system, that's the problem. If there is a simple release valve like letting people use their myth on Sands and Oils it's a problem that will fix itself. Buffing the content so a solo mob will be able to accommodate 200+ people simply because he's the weekly is just crazy.

Sands being on a vendor with virtually no cap makes the 1-2 sands from second coil a week shared between 8 people feel really silly.

Two ways SE can address this improper balance of players inconsistency of play style
Remember the first 2-4 weeks back in Aug/Sept 2013?? When was the last time you had to wait 4-8 hours just to log on to the server?

The 3rd way: wait 3-4 weeks, then come back and file a complain if the issues surrounding marks today still exists.

There are two parties involved... the players and the development team. The players surely will not stop converging on this particular bit of content so SE would be required to make the adjustment... its not difficult to understand i wouldnt think.

Again its not SE's fault that the player base converged on a small number of servers, its the players base fault. And again, the player base was unwilling to switch to smaller servers so SE had to compensate..

Please this is not a difficult concept to grasp. A few seconds of thought will allow you to grasp the issue.

It's almost like you think the players are the ones who put end game raid gear on the vendor.

So... what both of you are saying.. is...

The design is F#@%ing amazing since it has great rewards, and no cap, just wayyyyy too many people are doing it..

The lockouts should be removed or drops increased for the other content.

No the real solution would be to remove the option to buy oils and sands from the merchant.

Square-Enix should continue catering to the players who actually play the game, such as myself and many others who dont rant the forums continuously and, instead, play the game regularly.

Instead of casual players who only play for endgame gear, such as possibly yourself and the other "big dogs" as Worm put it, on the forums.

Yes even better design would be if SE paid you 10 bucks each time you killed a NM, that would be really good design and not stupid at all. There's absolutely no reason for rewards to reflect the effort put in, you're totally right. This system must be well designed because everyone on every server wants to grind it ALL THE TIME, that isn't actually boneheaded design at all.

Look, I think it's nice you're having fun with the content but you should let the big dogs use the forum and actually figure out what's wrong with the implementation. You've got absolutely no clue what you're talking about.

The problem here is foresight. SE should have known that when you put something on the table that's extremely coveted and that only about 2% of the current population currently has access to, it was going to turn into lord of the flies. In all honesty, the community has been as accommodating as could be hoped for. The best thing that can be done is either put the Sands on another vendor so people can buy it with myth/soldiery, or remove sands from the table altogether.
