My only real hope is that eventually they will create a PVP Geared instance. Myself I've been buying the gear with my winnings and well now knowing it is not working I feel sorta used. Overall meh..it is still fun and is getting people into PVP. That and with the increase in Wolf Marks being given out it will allow people to buy the gear quicker. Before this I only bought a chest piece after playing a few rounds of the Den a week for a few months (my teams lost a lot lol). Waiting in que and only getting say 5 Wolf Marks is rather disappointing compared to the cost of the gear.
Would be good if this was their plan all along. Have the PvP gear not work so beginners are not feeling gimped, then release a PvP Geared arena so that players who started doing PvP in the previous one will now have gear to use.

I bought a bunch of i70 PVP stuff recently from the marks I earned in Frontlines only to find out it's worse than my PVE junk. This doesn't even make any sense, it's not like the i100 PVP people are going to have an edge since it's i80 sync. . .I hope this is just a small Error and not part of design, cause if it is, it's the stupidest design ever.

Who ever heard of PVE junk being better than PVP stuff IN PVP. . . . .SE please fix this, there's literally no excuse for people not being able to get PVP stuff other than not running PVP instances at all. No Excuse.

Morale is for lvl50 Wolf's Den. Morale will only kills Frontline's popularity because it set a roadblock for new players. No one will enjoy a PvP that allows geard players to one shot new players.

If you have played lvl50 Wolf's Den, you should know that all geared players are basically telling you to grind it at lvl40 because you are useless without morale. It is better off for you to ask S/E to put ladder ranking system to lvl 50 wolf's den.

What you are asking right now is making me to think you are probably already stacked with morale gear but unable to enjoy the fun of toturing new players. Correct me if I am wrong.

So any equally geared player with fighting another morale geared player. Equal morale cancels the other out right?

So isn't it the same as someone with zero morale fighting someone else with zero morale?

If so, morale only becomes useless to destroy players who are undergeared. Which would cause new and casual PvPers to stop bothering. If you are wanting morale, you are wanting to gain an advantaeg over others. If everyone was given the same amount of morale for frontlines, then it would just be the same as it is now without morale.

Of course they are. There is no other reason why they care if morale is not being used in Frontlines. If they were asking to be allowed to use the PvP for glamor in frontlines and it work as opposed to other glamored armor. Would be fine. No moral puts everyone on the same level as if everyone was full morale.

I'm not advocating morale be reintroduced. I'm advocating morale being replaced in frontline, and I'll say now that I wouldn't mind morale being replaced entirely. If there's concern about people using PVP gear in PVE gameplay - SE can clearly alter how stats work in PVP. Why not make it's secondary stats like determination/crit/speed work exclusively in PVP on the PVP gear?

In either case, these stats ought to be balanced to any other piece of gear in it's ilvl tier.

There's a good opportunity to just drop it entirely now; however they'll need to rework PVP gear in any case.

I've only got a few pieces of PVP gear, mostly crafted/cheap mark stuff. I did PVP off and on to rank 19. Arena PVP really isn't my thing you see. Of course with frontlines now, I shot up to rank 28, feel free to check my profile if you like. Personally I like to think the frontlines exp reward is SE thumbing their nose at the people who spent WEEKS of win trading; and now people gain those same levels in a fraction of time, ha!

As to why I care so much? I've always loved doing PVP in mmos. It's a great alternative to PVE when you start to burn out or need a break. Right now though they pretty much blew out the purpose of pvp gear, even what little I had is junk now.

I don't have much to add other than my agreement with the general idea of this thread. I'd like to use my PvP gear in PvP and not be gimped compared to people in PvE gear, and I'd like them to do it the way you suggested. In fact, I'd prefer they remove Morale altogether and hard-replace it with another stat for each armor piece, much like what was mentioned in the post above mine.

Morale is harmful due to how it becomes a barrier to entry in PvP, more severe than any other stat would, while splitting queues into "normal" and "PvP gear-enabled" Frontlines would only heighten queue times. However, to have a full set of stats on PvP gear for their item level would mean that the gear would be viable for PvE. If this is something that SE wants to avoid (I still don't understand the big stink about that, but I'll roll with it), I feel the simplest way to balance it would be something like this:

    1. PvP gear has a full set of stats, but their stats are reduced by 10% when compared to PvE gear.
    2. In PvP duties, such as Frontlines and Wolves' Den, that 10% stat reduction is reimbursed, and PvE and PvP gear become exactly equal in overall strength.

Boom, problem solved. PvP gear and PvE gear are both on equal grounds where they matter, respectively, and PvP gear is still mildly less useful than PvE gear in PvE.

In any case, I just hope they do something to even out that disparity. I've been planning to do PvE that I don't feel like doing just to get my weapons for PvP, and that just doesn't feel right.

Personally I like the solution given by Geologo in this Thread http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post2267975
With this we'll be able to have a personalized pvp gear as he said, without be able to oneshot a player (like a Marauder can do with Morale Gear).

I suggest everyone here to not see the Frontline with the eyes of the "I'm new to PvP", because there is people that have spent a LOT of time to get their Equip doing Wolf's Den even when the queue was REALLY long and annoying!
With this I'm not saying they have to be able to One-Shot everyone else with their pvp equip and morale stats, I'm just saying that at least they DESERVE (respect ) something more then someone who's entering PvP for the first Time!!

And what Geologo said may be the solution.

Lets face it Wolves den was a bit... Meh and it got to a point where soo many people were doing trade wins to get decked out in PVP gear it just became pointless to play because they always had the advantage! I'm not saying everyone did this but unless you started Wolves den from when it was released, going into a match as a casual player was just painful and a waste of time.

If PVP gear stats worked in Frontline it would be the same.. people would get bored of constantly loosing to the decked out people and stop playing. As it is curently, its lots of fun because its balanced and everyone is capped to the same level.

And without any respect to the one that continued to play pvp from the beginning destroying all what they did in the past months. Really nice :s .
Lets say that from tomorrow all the PVE gear you got from the Second Coil, where you spent hours and hours to beat all turns is useless, because now you just need Crystal Tower gear(iL80) to beat ALL the Second Coil Turns. I don't think you would have reacted the same way you are doing now.

This is why I'm saying the difference in Wolf's Den is TOO MUCH because a marauder can't one shot everything he see and a SCH can't be Immortal! But who spent months for his PvP gears deserve just a little bit more then "what you did till now and all the months you spent doing pvp now are.... USELESS!!".
