The item Vintage Kite Shield, is said to be repaired with a Dark Matter lv.5 and a Carpenter, but an Armorer lv. 43 repaired it.
Or the Class that repair the item is wrong, or there is a bug with that shield.
Regards =)

After speaking with the dev in charge of items about this, he told me it was indeed the intended design, as both the synthesis and repair class for the vintage kite shield are the same (carpenter) and therefore consistent. I wrote up a bug report asking that the class be reconsidered and sent it along. Hopefully they'll see the light (and the metal)!
Thanks for the post!
I'm not sure your response has acknowledged this Eemeefu, but even though it is listed as carpenter, an Armorer was the class that repaired it.
Actually a lot of shields were made by using wood backings and that is likely the part to get damaged from taking a beating and rattling. So I could understand if that be the case even though personally I wouldn't mind seeing some items being able to be fixed by than more than one class especially if it takes dual class to make the item would allow repairs to be handled on certain items a bit easier.After speaking with the dev in charge of items about this, he told me it was indeed the intended design, as both the synthesis and repair class for the vintage kite shield are the same (carpenter) and therefore consistent. I'm not sure if that shield can be repaired as Carpenter too. Anyway, If an Armorer can repair it, has to be listed. I would like to see more than 1 class repairing gear too =)Actually a lot of shields were made by using wood backings and that is likely the part to get damaged from taking a beating and rattling. Derp! Sorry about that. I still think it should be an armorer synthesis though...
As for the actually reported issue, I'm unable to reproduce it on the current version of the game. Are you suuure you weren't a carpenter? If this problem is occurring for anyone else, please let me know.
And as a wiser man than myself once said: Screenshot or it didn't happen.![]()
Forgive me if this doesn't help, but I thought I'd throw this in:
Sometimes when swapping weapons/tools, the old tool still shows on my character even though I changed my class.
Example: I'm a R35 Alchemist. I change to my R35 Carpenter. My tool will still show on my character as an alembic, but I will be able to still repair items and craft as a Carpenter. To fix this, I simply change any other piece of gear and like magic, I'll have a saw hanging from my side instead of a alembic.
Is it possible that this was what happened? That it just looked like the person repairing it was an Armorer? Did you /check them to see their class at the time of the repair? That kind of information would probably help Eemeefu out a lot![]()
The shield is crafted by carpenters. it is also made out of mahogany wood. The repair mat use to be mahogany plank before the repair changes, and was repaired by carpenter then as well.
The Armorer who repaired the shield was an LS friend. He is Armorer lv. 42 now, and I think he is Carpenter Lv. 0 xDDD
I'll ask him to repair it again, and send me and Screenshot =)
