    it doesn't have to be a retcon to be a completely unrelated story. take ALL of the ffxi expansions for example.

    I can only hope it does the 1.0 > 2.0 thing because i want my world map one big thing, and my cities complete again.

    but i'm somehow doubting they're going to redesign the entire world again for 2.0 > 3.0 (seriously, these tiny areas are anoying, and the big open world of 1.0 was amazing. There's no reason cities couldnt at the very least be one area like before).
