I participated in the first event, and was pretty excited to see it coming back. I was hoping for maybe a second generation minion or some new awesome CS's, but was saddened to see I couldn't participate in the fun again.

It was only brought back because new players who missed out the first time were requesting it to return. So yes, it's the same quest as before so if you've completed it once there's no reason to do it again (other than to beat up Shantotto's giant doll, which is always fun ).

I like and don't like this. Once a year would be good for repeating old event's I would think. I like having event exclusive stuffs. If I miss out on it, I miss out on it and hope the opportunity comes around again. On the fence...

There's nothing stopping us from joining the FATE, getting hit in the face with with a hi-res Blizzaga V, then going back to the inn to watch the cutscene again.
We got dyeable FFXIII gear and are getting another new DQ item and a bunch of Rising minions at the least, and just got a bunch of brand new yukata. Can't imagine Shantotto would settle for being an oer d'oeuvres, but just glad she wasn't a one-shot thing after all.

FFXI events ran similar, but were more drawn out into different stages, similar to the Lightning event. (I don't think I got a Halloween pitchfork till my last year of playing XI for 7 years lmao.) But even if you had done it you'd get a handful of fireworks or something lol.
Oh Well, off to the inn room to watch some CS's !
