Hello,
Sorry in advance, i was looking for the feedback thread, but didnt see it in this forum anymore.
I recently got to experience Frontlines pv pand i must say its very fun. However there are things i dont understand. I dont understand why the nodes( the objectives that spawn in the centre) give so many points. I much prefer it to be about capturing bases, instead about calculating when the next set is going to spawn so you can kill them for 1 million points and win the match. Shouldnt you be encouraged to capture bases and kill players? Im just assuming that frontlines is domination with a little extra for when youre behind, unfortunately its just: team A and C camp the bases, and B goes duke it out in the middle. So i wanted to ask:
1 Can the points that are accumulated by killing nodes go down?
2 Can you remove the nodes and make it a normal base?
3 Can there be more bases on the map?
4 Can we have a bonus per tick for any extra base you capture? That would be when youve captured three already and have captured a fourth one.
Game modes:
So i thought of a few modes that may improve the pvp experience. These are all from FPS games, but some would work for non fps, i think.
1 Can we have Rush?(Battlefield~) Its very fun en hectic. Place 2 objectives on an increasingly larger map. Have a team defend and one attack. You can throw in a dragon in the defender mix if you feel players camp it out a little much. Dragon wil ofcourse also attack the attackers.
2 Can we have Search and Destroy?(Call of Duty) Preferably with everyone having a bomb to avoid archers killing the carrier and camping the bomb :P
3 Can we have random rotation of objectives per playsession? (Killzone~) Basically make a map, and everyone gets to chase down different objectives to get points. You can make us capture a flag one moment and defend a base the next, heck throw in a dragon and see who gets the most damage or kill. Very fun and frantic.
Players:
1 Can we have more pvp skills? Like a front conal aoe or a larger heal distance that goes down in potency the further you stand away from him. Or something like that.
2 Can we have more gear? There are 4 sets, i think. Please make more sets, preferably with bonusses. Like having a warrior set thats focussed on damage or team defense.
3 Can morale not matter for the first 5-10 matches? As i understand morale doesnt do anything, i think it should. But to ease players into pvp lets just have morale not matter for a few games.
4 Matchmaking? It seems to be that youre just thrown into the mix. Can we have some sort of calculation where a certain skilled player gets to play against the same skill? Im probably shooting myself in the foot here, but when its done properly its very fun. Why doubts you ask? Well matchmaking is horrible in any game. The only one where i saw it done more or less correctly was Black Ops 2, with league play.(which is actually designed for competitive players, but half of them are not) That worked very well. Or do you guys think we should have more pvp players first before we start putting them in “skillboxes”?
5 Rewards? It doesnt seem to matter much what you do. Can we have a seals rewards for completing objectives. Exp reward for kills. Bonus for doing both very well.
6. Achievements? Things like kill/death ratio matter. Its annoying when it becomes the base stat people judge you for, but it actually is fun to see your own progression. Also things like capturing 5 bases per match, or heal 2000 hp is just plain fun. Lots of meaningless scores is fun.
Im guessing im wanting to turn it into a regular multiplayer, like in non mmo games, but i think pvp isnt considered fun because its not been done properly. For example i played World of Warcraft for a few days and got inro lvl15 pvp, and the only tactic people knew was to camp the objective as soon as they found out there where some n00bs out there who didnt know any better. Or like WvWvW in Guildwars 2 where people mostly started to gather materials to sell on the markets. If you go 1 step into the other direction(read : competitive multiplayer) then the game would open up to a lot of people, because they understand more whats been asked of them.
Thanks for reading.
