I think it may be a windows 8 issue. I upgrade from 7 to 8.1 and I've been having issues like this. Especially after 2.3. The client mainly crashes on teleports for me...
Has anyone contacted SE support directly for this issue?

hmm it can be possible, my wife has a win7 pc and she never had any problem, also after patch, i have 8.1 on my pc and got those crashes ;_;
It happens infrequently and seems to occur when teleporting from highly concentrated zones, e.g. Mor Dhona. Maybe a connection issue component, not sure.
i confirm it happens at most when teleporting in crowdy zone (ty hunt system :/), but can't be a connection problem, my wife's character is on my same line (we have fiber at home too, not normal xDSL), and she never had any crash!!
This just started for me, too... I was playing last night just fine, get up this morning and it freezes. I'm tempted to redownload everything as a last resort.

I always use driver sweeper XD
EDIT- changing my computer's native resolution and the game resolution to 1600- 1200 did not fix the problem. My native is also 1080p
Driver sweeper is out of date and doesn't work properly anymore.
Started happening to me as well on my Windows 8 laptop right after patch 2.3.
Resolutions that I have tried thus far that ONLY provide a temporary fix:
1. Delete your temporary files. Goto: Run > type: %temp%
2. Roll back graphics drivers to previous version
3. Uninstall graphics drivers, then reinstall the last previous stable version
4. Restart computer
5. Uninstall LogMeIn
6. Uninstall LogMeIn display driver from Device Manager > Display adapters
7. Uninstall sound drivers and reinstall last previous stable version
Just an FYI, I'm using a Lenovo laptop with an Intel HD Graphics 4000 GPU @ 1366x768 resolution.

Not sure what to do at this point. Pretty disappointed the SE isn't replying to this thread.
Problem still persists. Are you there Square Enix?
Clearing the temp files + restarting laptop is a temporary fix that appears to be working for me every time.
