Is there anyway to sort that error atleast or know anything else its related to? my hard drive should be good as its only a few months old. I have scanned and boot time scanned my computer so it should be pretty damn clean.
Square Enix often seems to recommend uninstalling FF14 ARR, removing all remaining files related to the game (including any config files), and then re-installing the game (which you can download from finalfantasyxiv.com/playersdownload/na - or replace the na if you're not based out of North America).
It looks like I had the same error you're getting and this method ended up working for me. It did crash during the first few tries I ran it after the re-install, but since then it has been running fine with no other problems. You will have to customize your settings and set up your hot bars all over again but of course your character progress won't be lost since that is stored on the Square Enix servers. If that doesn't work, it's probably still worth submitting a ticket to Square Enix.
Since this problem seems to be related to corrupted / invalid memory writing or allocation, my best guess is that something may have been happening in the patching process that was causing some FF14 files to become corrupted.
I just came back and i got more crashes in this last week then i had in the months prior my break.
No error or anything, just a crash that the game has stopped working. This is seriously hampering my experience.
Tried formating my pc and reinstalled windows 8.1 . Reinstalled my nvidia drivers.
Reinstalled Final fantasy Realm reborn but still getting Crash to desktop.
I can't play like this. Every time i join a dungeon or something i can play like 5min , then crash..
There's corruption somewhere. Somewhere, either in RAM, VRAM, or on your disk drive, data is being incorrectly read/stored. That the error is recurring leads me to believe you have a hardware issue, not software. I recommend S.M.A.R.T tests on your drive (http://hddscan.com/), pre-boot memtests (http://memtest.org/), and maybe some VRAM tests (http://mikelab.kiev.ua/index_en.php?...ROGRAMS/vmt_en).
can't see to find a reason for these crashes, happens less at low desktop settings but it still happens frequently, and im on a 770 too. This should NOT be happening.
I've been getting these crashes, too - the first time, I had to get my character naked and then I could progress the mission which caused it to crash.
But then I went to Mist to go to my FC Hall, and it crashed in the teleport. I'm glad this thread was here - I'm already starting a reinstall.![]()
For anyone who has this problem when pressing the green play button.... do you have dual monitor setup????
I dual monitor, but I got my glitch when the game finished the 'loading' screen for entering Mist. My laptop monitor isn't big enough to play the game, it's only got 800 pixels height in its resolution, so.
(Since I live in Australia, it's going to take me a few days to reinstall the game OTL.)
I had this issue and currently the only workaround is to start another game in the background. I've tried SC2 and CS:GO which I'm guessing are both DX9 so it may have something to do with that.back again, after a month of smooth play since my last post on here. It has gone back to crashing on play start up. what a joke. I played FF14 fine the night before yet nothing has changed settings wise. crashes on startup yet i did get this error after a couple of tries. any ideas?
