"FFXIV Has Stopped Working"

Yesterday i was playing with the overclock of my cpu (I5 3570k) and i was having the same issue when i set the voltage to low for the cpu. You guys could try to underclok a little your cpu to see if that help or disable some of the cores. Also try to run a memtest to see if everything is ok on your ram.

Interesting... I started overclocking my PC this Monday evening and FF14 ARR was running great. There was a small patch on Tuesday and since then, the game is consistently freezing. I didn't change my settings from Monday to Tuesday, but coincidentally, the new driver for my GTX 770 came out Tuesday so I'm wondering if installing the GPU driver is playing a role. Other games seem to run fine, but I'm going to try decreasing my CPU clock and increase the voltage and see if I get better results.

The new driver uses cpu's a tad differently and might introduce crashes on overclocked cpu's that aren't actually stable.

Well, I reset my CPU to it's default clock settings and reverted back to the previous Nvidia driver. I still can not load the game if my character is in a crowded area (Limsa Lominsa) and it crashes after a few minutes in other areas (in the rare cases it makes it past the loading screen).
I tried playing Skyrim and BioShock Infinite and they run perfectly on ultra settings, so I'm pretty certain this issue is exclusive to FF14 Arr and the new patch. I submitted a ticket to Square Enix and hope to know more soon.

S.E. responded to the ticket and recommended I uninstall and re-install Windows and FF14 ARR (after first insisting it's a wireless network issue - which it's not). I think I'll wait a few days to see if any ideas pop up before re-installing the game. As for re-installing Windows, that's a last resort and I'm not sure if I want to backup and wipe that much data for one single game... Maybe I would make a new partition and see if it works...

I just reinstalled before this all started for another reason. Im 100% up to date and everything checks out fine (i dont overclock and for kicks i checked over everything...green lights across the board). I really think its FFXIV kicking something off in certain situations (mine mostly being large groups...like i cant stand around in Mor D for ever or it will crash...but i can romp away in the forest without issue). Dunno how to help when the error we get is not really useful unless the game caught the error in its own logs somehow.

Honestly I think they suggest that when they have no idea whats causing it either. I still wonder why they havnt added a repair utility to the game as of yet.

It fixed itself for a little while after the last maintenance downtime, then gave me the finger again. Same toon, same zone. It's not on my end, and I'd really like to be able to play my main.

ETA: Well, now I can long into my main (and he still crashed twice getting him the heck OUT of Central Thanalan,) but all the other toons I have in that zone on two different worlds (which is most of them) are pretty much unplayable unless what I want to play is gamecrash Russian Roulette.

still having the same issue with mine i suppose im fortunit in that its only when i log out of the game that it creeps up but still kind of annoying.

UPDATE 8/4/2014:

The problem has gotten worse on my laptop. My temporary fix of deleting all files from the user's temporary directory & restarting afterwards no longer works. I've had to do this multiple times in a row to get FFXIV: ARR running. However, I'm done and gave up trying to get this to work on Friday. Ironically my subscription ran out during this weekend, and I DID NOT renew it.

I'm not continuing my subscription if SE won't even acknowledge this issue. Good luck to ya all.

Alright so some thoughts on the matter. I am thinking it might be some issue,glitch,whatever thats triggered by latency or some other lag related issue since it seems to only happen in a area of high congestion. With hunts being as insanely popular as they are and Mor Dohna being a central hub I speculate that maybe the sheer volume of people that have come back since the recent patch might be the cause of all this. Granted this is all just speculation but its the best theory i can come up with.
