In short, each piece has to be made separately in photoshop and then built as a computer sculpture and detailed to meet FF standards.

Your point here is? lol That technique is used for almost every new game since the current gen consoles. couple years now, even rookies who just learning 3d modelling use those techniques. And the pros do it in significantly less time than XIV. Which is making me believe that the XIV team is just not very skilled lol when theres people who do the exact same thing in a lot less time.

My point was the process in which it is made. As for length of time, not a single mmo has been nearly as detailed as this game to date. I love scrolling in and being able to see seems and lines of thread in the woven cloth. You can't do that in any other mmo I know of.

That's true. I still can't get over some pieces of equipment. I think 6 months is worth it.

hmm Strange, I can see it, just the same as in other mmos, tera, even aion lol. Maybe a lot of mmos dont go into insane detail because of large populated optimization, which something XIV lacks badly!
