1.18 Patch Installation - Trojan threat stops installation ... please help

[Pop up window for the updater says]

    Final Fantasy XIV updater:

    An Update error has occurred:

    Error 20619
    Error 19901
    Error 13

    ~ This occurs at 10.9% installation ~

    [Anti Virus Pulls up as:]

    Threat: Trojan.Generic.5934904
    Original File Name: q5rqs9166pw35vw5wqs9w75.le.lpb.tmp2

    ----------

Basically I don't know what to do since I cannot install the game to play now ...

I'm more curious to why an update file is being picked up as a Trojan; either my anti-virus is really sensitive and is mistaken or there is something really wrong ...

I got it working.. I disabled my AV compleatly tempoary while patching let it finish then re enable the AV software..

I am 99.9% sure SE would not put anything truly malicious in with a patch.
Just Judge Dread AV software being over protective.

My bf and I downloaded the patch, on my laptop i had no probs, but on his desktop the Trojan kept popping up at 10% of the final leg of the download. It's extremly strange cause we both downloaded from the same place and we both run the same antivirus software!

I did the same as Pappy in the end, but would be good to know for sure if this is a SE file or not!

disable the AV.. add it to your exclusion list and if you really want to go a step further you can turn off firewall but you better have good and active protection.

would anybody know the answer to this, please...

I've run our AV (Bullguard) on my BF's pc, it picks up the two infected files,
so i wrote down the file path names and checked them on my laptop, I ran an complet AV scan on my laptop which did not find the infection. I scaned the files individualy and they came up as Trojans!
I've removed the two files from my BF's pc via the AV, then ran the AV in safe mode to make sure the infection has gone, all clean!

Is there anything else I can do?

    Thanks
    Emby

I have the same problem but the error is call 20709. This game use the p2p technologie and a virus can come from a other computer I would not dissable my anti-virus simply because this game use credit card information. I would be glad if someone could tell how to get rid of the corrupt data and start downloading it again ...

Well you can always delete the patch files. They are in your user folder -> Documents -> My Games -> FINAL FANTASY XIV -> downloads -> ffxiv
