Before this update I was able to run the game at near max settings and now after the rollback issues and this patch 1.18, I have not been able to use multisampling unless I lower to to 2XMSAA or none.
The frame rates do not drop though, Its the connection to the game. The sending and receiving would basically be at red 0 and it would stay this way for about 3-10 min. All my drivers are up to date and FFXIV prior to the update would never really have any issues. I have also re-installed the game and I am still having this issue. So my theory is, its coming from your side SE.
My old card (ATI 5770) was not really able to handle multisampling at 8XQ MSAA so it gave a huge frame rate drop and I never really got disconnected or saw my sending and receiving at red 0 unless there was a connection issue. My current card (ATI 5870) had no issues though, until all of this happened.
My internet connection is not an issue as well. I can play any other game, stream movies, and download gigabytes in a matter of minuets.
Steps:
1. Turn on multisampling to 4X or 8XQ
2. The game disconnects and gives the sending and receiving at red 0 (no frame rate drops though)
3. Unable to interact with the game at all unless I wait 3-10 min.
4. After restarting both cable modem and router, made another attempt to log back in to the game but the result was the same.
5. Re-installed the game, but the results stood the same.
Date & Time: Ever since the that hardware change for the rollback issues. issues have become worse since patch 1.18
Frequency: Always. Mainly in the city area, but out in town its an issue aswell when I interact with the environment or it disconnects over time.
