If you are in a full party all you have to do is hit a mark once and you get full credit. I have never not gotten full credit in a full party when I have hit the mob once. Its to your advantage to make a full group when doing hunts.

For those that might wind up asking for Hunt LS, its worth noting that Hunt linkshells are currently toxic and filled with bad blood. Pls avoid them. It is in your best interest. There has been kicks for little to no reason, and unnecessary flaming towards FC leaders. If you're gonna hunt for anything, do it with a group of friends and just take it for yourself if no one is around. Don't shout spawns or spawn locations, you're just paving the way for shout wars, or paving the way to wind up on someone's blacklist because "you pulled early".

See on my server you would get b-listed and kicked out of shells for saying that. And everyone would shout about how terrible you are for not waiting for 300 people to show up.For those that might wind up asking for Hunt LS, its worth noting that Hunt linkshells are currently toxic and filled with bad blood. This entire hunt system has become toxic for the community.
Mew!
Exactly. Even if you're trying to be reasonable, someone will see you as unreasonable, and then shit hits the fan. I've had friends kicked from LS even though they were the ones waiting around being reasonable, and had my FC leader attacked because she was unwilling to be a part of a LS. 8D
Twice in the past half hour I've made my way to an S Rank with linkshell friends (8 of us) almost immediately as it was found and announced to people via various linkshells. I teleported right away and didn't make it in time to even see the monster, let alone get a hit in. The fact we haven't had an official response anywhere about the state of hunts is worrying me. Considering the non-issues we've had replies to in the past (butt sizes comes to mind...) are the hunts really something the development team are happy with?
The longer you leave this, the more damage it's going to do to the faith many people have in this game. Mine is wavering. I'm not going to lie. This system, and my exclusion from it through absolutely no fault of my own is very insulting and I'm even more insulted that nothing has been said about it yet.
And you know what makes it worse? Seeing all these people who miraculously find themselves at every mark in time or people who have openly admitted to using radar gloating and lording it up with their multipe Sands, Minions, whatever, is really, really insulting. Why? Because I dealt with people like that for many years in XI. It was bad enough there, but at least, since HNM was team based, I still could contribute and get some reward out of it on occasion. I'm never going to beat a radar user to a mark unless it spawns in my vicinity. I'm not going through this with another of your MMOs. It's not worth it.
You need to eradicate this issue now or you are going to regret it. Think I'm a vocal minority? Just ask how many people didn't get full credit at the next mark you kill and see how many people might be feeling the way I'm feeling. We've got 32 pages and 314 replies in this thread alone about how much hunts suck and nothing. This is discounting all the other threads in the English forums. What about French, German, Japanese? No replies there either.
Come on SE. If you can spare time to comment on butt sizes you can spare time to comment on the worst system you've ever released to your MMOs. Swallow your pride and fix this garbage before it's too late.

Just got invited to an S-rank, shouting and using 3 Hunt LS I barely got an invite, and when I did, it had 4 people. Spamming stone II and cures from 70% onward netted me 5 seals. Screw this system.
Using radar for hunts?
That reminds me of a friend way back in the day. Boasted how he beat Emerald Weapon and later I found out he used a Game Shark to do it.
I say let's flog 'em on site. Shamefully.
Uh it's been stated in this thread or others that the Radar addon is not doing what you guys are assumming it's doing. The real issue here is a full linkshell running around the whole world calling in zerg groups on everything and taking the high rank on them. Then they characterize their zerg monopolization of the content "good for the server" or something.
You mean radar isn't telling people what's up within a five map block radius? Because that's an enormous advantage. In the time it takes me to check every nook and cranny in one zone for a potential target somebody with radar has checked ten other zones.Uh it's been stated in this thread or others that the Radar addon is not doing what you guys are assumming it's doing. Also, there's more than one radar programme and they have varying effectiveness. There's one person on Sargatanas who had admitted outside of the game (clever guy) that his radar tells him when something spawns, regardless of where he is in the zone. Don't assume that everyone is using the same 'cheap' programme. There are also people who play this game that are probably better at creating software than some of SE's team. That's not a dig based on the hunts or anything... There are some talented programmers out there who play video games.
Look I understand it's frustrating but focusing on some 'he said she said' about Radar programs you don't even know exist really is ignoring the underlying problem of the incentives, mob contribution, and mob health. It's not about "talented programmers" it's about someone peaking into data the server hasn't sent them yet. We're talking exploits of massive proportions and I'm not telling you they don't exist, I'm saying blaming some nebulous software because some guy on Sargantanas admitted he has a special hack that lets him see spawns anywhere just isn't enough evidence. You mean radar isn't telling people what's up within a five map block radius? EDIT: Making these into bitchfests about cheating will not only muddle the actual good points, but probably just get the threads deleted. Unless FFXIV is doing something dumb like caching a rare mob into everyone's memory in the zone when it spawns rathern than when they see it, then most methods of finding a mob zone wide should be detectable since they're getting into server info.
I'm not going to assume there are apps that do this simply because people get to hunts sooner than me. I see these people walking around the map and I've gotten to mobs before there as well.
