Companion trouble..

I was wondering if anyone knew a fix for this issue I'm having..or maybe I'm doing something completely wrong. Just logged back in for the first time since the earlier 1.0 version and I see that the GC chocobo is now a companion. Problem for me is it's locked, gives me a message "cannot execute at this time" when I try to summon him..Now I've already done the story quests up to the mission "Hero in the Making", also joined a GC. It still gives me the message. After that I figured maybe I have to redo the chocobo quests, that being "My Little Chocobo" and "My Feisty Chocobo". Well, My Little Chocobo isn't showing up at the GC but I can see the follow-up quest My Feisty Chocobo at Camp Tranquil, however, it's locked(red icon).
I tried doing the GC quests thinking that it might unlock after a specific quest..still hasn't appeared and now the company quests are at around lvl 50 when the chocobo quests are lvl 20 and 30.

Weird thing I should add. I think I saw the quest disappear from the options when choosing a company mission. It happened the first time I went to the commander(of Maelstrom btw). Really the quest My Little Chocobo doesn't make sense for me to do since I already possess a chocobo and can't purchase a company-issued license for another. The quest I'm most confused about is the Feisty one..why is it locked? For the conditions it doesn't say anything..it's blank. Possible bug? Hope I'm doing something wrong.

You mention that you can't purchase a company-issue licence but I was wondering have you purchased a Chocobo Issuance Certificate from your Grand Company quartermaster for 2,000 seals, in the first place? It's the main item that you need to be able to be issued with the rights to ride a Chocobo. It should be in the low tier "sundries" tab when you look through the quartermaster's wares.

Have you checked your active quests in your journal? It may be a quest that you've picked up and forgotten about? That would explain why "My Feisty Chocobo" is displaying, but is locked.

Once you have a Chocobo Issuance Certificate, you can take it to a Chocobo Porter, and they will exchange a Company Chocobo (in the form of a Chocobo Whistle) for the certificate. After this you can then also access your Legacy Chocobo.

Eltaire -- If I read things correctly, the problem is that the quest "My little chocobo" doesn't even appear in the first place. Thus the chocobo porter in their town won't have the option to hand over the certificate.
