East Win Strategy for Tam-Tara Hard first boss

I really like this dungeon, the creepy atmosphere, and the really dark tie in to an earlier quest in the main storyline. I've run it a bunch of times in DF and everyone stresses on this boss trying to do complicated kite strategies that usually end up in at least one wipe. So I figured I'd give you my super easy strategy that works 100% of the time.

You wanna know how to completely ignore all of the mechanics and win super fast and easy? Here's how:

Okay, this boss will target one person with three balls over their head. This is the person that the adds will chase after. It will then target another person with a funky arrow thingy above their head and hit that person with an AoE that looks like Wide Volley. This AoE kills the adds. If you kill the adds instead, they explode and do minor AoE dmg. If they all explode, it adds up to everyone taking a whole lot of damage.

So, here's what you do. Everyone stands really close to the boss, ranged/magic DPS, healers and all. The adds will target one person, the boss will target someone else, but since you're all standing right there it doesn't really matter and you can completely ignore the entire mechanic and focus completely on the boss. Any healer worth half a damn will be able to keep up with the minimal dmg that the adds and the Wide Volley-looking ability do.

So, everyone stands close to the boss, ignore the adds, and focus completely on the boss. The boss will kill the adds for you, and you can just pound away on it. Very fast. Very easy. And WAY less chance for a wipe.

What do you mean ignore the mechanics... that is the mechanic... not attacking the adds and let the aoe pulse does its job.

I mean you don't have to pay attention to it. It takes care of itself. All you do is focus on boss. I've had half a dozen groups try ridiculous kiting strategies that never work. Pile on the boss and completely ignore the adds.

I just did this. The tank called it cheatsy. I think it's genius, especially since we had two blm in the group. Saved a lot of casting downtime from running to other players.

You would think so, but no group I have ever gotten into with DF has wanted to do it this way until at least one wipe trying to do it another way.

that tank is an idiot. That's the intended strat, who would be idiot enough to ignore such a simple mechanic to burn through the debuffs ?

I wonder how would someone wipe while kiting if they know what the boss aoe does.
