    point alotment

    so currently I am a rank 30 lancer with physical level of 27.

    my stats are

    STR 59
    VIT 60
    DEX 59
    INT 17
    MND 30
    PTY 19

    I'm not really sure how to alot my points so obviously I've been throwing them all at STR VIT and DEX.

    What's a good way to alot my points, and how have you others been doing it?

    Strength 97
    Vitality 100
    Dexterity 97
    Intelligence 65
    Mind 65
    Piety 65

    I have my points spread because I "swing" my stats using the stat converter traits that you buy at all the DoW and DoM guilds and different Stat Rings. I have no problem facing Notorious Monsters. I use Food to deal with accuracy (Certain Fish and Meat dishes). At your rank though, I believe that you should have your stats the way they are right now.. so you can grind faster. Dont forget that other jobs require different stats.. for example: Miner needs Mind and Vitality

    There are currently upcoming battle/class changes that are going to change the way stats work. From various forums, parse results, threads, etc. what seems to be the common ground for theories is this:

    Vitality - increases HP, great stat for survivability
    Mind - increases MP, great stat for survivability (it's beneficial to level mage classes for cure/regen as they help immensely for soloing)
    Piety - Useful for crafting/gathering, but also seems to improve the rate at which DoTs stick, whether they are from spells or weapon skills.
    Strength - Increases attack power, appears to be diminishing returns at a certain point, so this stat becomes less important after so many points.
    Dexterity - Currently useless outside of DoH/DoL, it provides no noticeable benefit to accuracy or critical hit %.
    Intelligence - Have actually not read into this stat much as I basically play DoW classes.

    So that's the general idea at this point in the game. Basically pump up your VIT & MND to increase your HP/MP pools, and everything else is virtually unimportant. Most output and the biggest factor in your ability to do your job will be your weapon. Most armor & stats at this point aren't worth much, but this will change in the next few months, and until the changes are in place, no one really knows how stats will work but based on other MMOs/RPGs you can get an idea.

    The dude above me doesn't know what hes talking about.. The only thing that he said that is true, is the fact that the developers are planning to change a few things with the Physical stats..but besides that common knowledge.. he's being ignorant -_-

    So you are saying that Dex actually does affect Acc and that you have parses to show that?

    We will all wait for you to come back with some solid proof that this and the other stats work correctly.

    I compared my damage to a rank 50 Pugilist and Marauder and a rank 48+ Archer, and I dealt an average of 10 damage more than them (with a Heavy Iron Lance)

    Ignorant as in the literal definition of not knowing... A few of your statements Belial discredit any of the factual information you posted.. I wasn't trying to insult you.. if you were insulted.. then im sorry.

    Pendragon, if youre talking to me.. then the link I posted earlier is FACT. Those trying to disprove the fact are wasting their time. There are too many factors involved to simply set my DEX to base stat.. then increase it one point.. do 100 hits.. then increase it another point.. Each mob is different.. just thinking of Blunt versus Slash versus Peirce damage is enough to disprove anyones data. The reason why the Crab Shell +3 was a 1% rare drop 2 months ago, was because no one knew that you had to incap the crab from behind.. This game is about Learning from experience.. The R50 BSM who has botted all his crafts cant make Iron Nuggets +1 because he has his stats in MND set to base.. OH MY THE STATS ARE BROKEN!.. get real

    I know exactly what the definition of ignorant is, and you're conveying a prime example of it with your posts. You don't seem to understand that stats react differently on DoH/DoL than they do on DoW/DoM, and are intended for a different purpose. Using crafting/gathering examples is moot to the effects relayed on battle types. The fact is, the stat system is not functioning properly and this is a known issue. In fact, damage output, etc. is more heavily linked to your rank than it is to your physical level, which is not how the system was designed to work.

    Also, just because you linked a post (that was pre-dev team changes, mind you) doesn't mean that it is cold hard evidence that stats work as intended. In fact, SE was notorious for misinformation & broken promises prior to the changes in the development team, not to mention the amount of information witheld during this time. And sorry to say, but parser results, regardless of missing certain details, are still more accurate than your visual testing.

    I appreciate the comments and suggestions from everyone, they are helping to me to make my own guideline for how I want to play.
    I made this thread seeking help and for a little discussion on the different ways in which Lancer's may alot their points depending on how they want to play; that being said, there is no need for anyone to be rude or argue.

    Belial and MHB3000, thank you for posting your different findings and preferred stat builds. Both have been informative but we must remember the game is still going through some major development and is constantly changing, information does not remain stagnant as well as the fact that some people find ways of playing which are outside the box or more enjoyable for their personal selves.

    Again, thanks guys, I really do appreciate it, but lighten up. Don't be so quick to point out someone's "ignorance" based on information which is out dated by only a short period of time, or on an opinion of gameplay which may differ from your own.
