Heavy Stutter after patch

Currently i suffer of heavy stutter after patch, micro frame skip and choppy gameplay. The game was running just fine before, smoothly with no issues at all. Now it also crashes randomly! when that never happened to me in the past and playing it now as it is, turns out to be frustrating.

Already went trough updating my drivers and the problems seems to not reverse at all. Help me please! i like this game but, i am about to give up on it.

also update ATI driver (i read around that last revision have a little problem)

BTW..i updated and never see what you say...

I know that is a wasrte of time..but I think you must unistall and reinstall FFXIV .....the only try that i think can work

I do have the latest driver, which is what makes this so weird... My computer is decent enough to run a game like this, it did before, smoothly just perfect! then all of the sudden it feels like the computer cannot handle it, either SE messed up something or ATI with the driver... idk :/

Also, i must add that SE needs to work a lot on it's engine. Is nowhere close to be optimized!

Iduno about your location, but around my area it's been pretty darn hot lately. It may be that the updated game puts a slightly higher load on your system, which is causing it to heat up just enough more to trigger some thermal protection. Have you checked your heatsinks and fans recently?

I have the same problem choppy game play after this patch, especially in the dungeons. Before everything was golden. Weird thing is, I see about a ~5c drop in temps with this patch. Before I was in the range of 55c-61c, now Im at 50c - 55c. I love the new temp, not the choppy game play ><

I know same thing here! My temp is fine I always keeps a close eye on it plus i recently upgraded the cooling system in my case, so if it didn't gave me a problem before, much less now!

I'm having this issue now as well. Out of nowhere I go from running smooth as silk to doing like 5 fps. It has killed me a couple times even. I never had anything like this happen before. Is it just me or is it happening during battle mostly?
Doesn't happen all the time and it's not about how many people in PT. I pt'd with 8 and it was fine and then pt'd with 2 and it happened.
win 7 x64 6gb ram.

ati 5850 updated drivers.
1tb HD just reformatted for the last patch so it's not some fragmentation issue.

I wonder if my issues are coming via my harddrive. My GPU is running ~50c, CPU ~40c, my connection is constant. The main part in the dungeon where I experience extreme choppiness is at the oger fight, skeleton room, and final boss fight. This happens everytime. Outside the dungeon everything is normal.

When I said extreme choppiness I mean everything will freeze for 1~3 seconds at times. I always think ok it's about to crash, but lucky me it never has. Just very annoying.

Off the top of my head here is my desktop stats. I'll update once at home.

There are a lot of causes for the stuttering. There as many fixes. If you have a "good system" it is usually the hard drive. The type of stuttering that is caused by bottlenecks in the hard drive can sometimes be fixed by nuking the preferences for the game. Easy process.

Create a temp folder on your desktop. Open Documents / My Games / Final Fantasy XIV/ and move the entire contents into the temp folder. Move ONLY your "users" folder back into the Final Fantasy XIV folder. Run the FFXIV config program and set all your settings back to your preferred set up. Do not forget to configure your controller if you have one. The game will take longer than normal to load after selecting your character. Give it a full minute to load even after you see the UI appear. Give the game a whirl.

If you are running the game fine and then suddenly drop to 3fps for an extended period of time, this is most commonly a different issue. It appears to have something to do with Firefox and/or IE. I have found that waiting out the problem can take anywhere from 5-30min to fix itself, however, closing the web browser in question and re-starting always fixes the issue.

FINALLY... Do you play in windowed mode? Because if you do, FFXIV sets the priority of 14's process to "low" while in windowed mode. Setting it normal is helpful. This is dun by running taskmgr.exe, clicking the tab for processes, then right clicking FFXIVgame.exe and selecting the priority there. However, for some reason, it seems to constantly reset itself back to low... let me know if you find a fix for this.
