RMT Spam Tells (suggestion)

The most unenjoyable part of FFXIV is being harrased by RMT with their spam /tells. I blacklist them, but they just keep coming.

Maybe some creative thinking on ways to prevent or stop this, or ways to quickly identify/ban this activty should be implemented.

My suggestion might be to implement a script/rule. If a player sends a /tell to another character, and that character blacklists them... If that happens 10 times in the period of 1 minute, then it is very likely the /tells that character are sending are RMT/harresment related. If that character, and the account they belong to is then put immediatly on a temp suspension. Then someone can look at the content of those /tells, and if they are found to be RMT related permanent ban.

I realize RMT will find new and creative ways to annoy me, but we should be finding new and creative ways to stop them.

They will always try to find a way around it sadly just like EMail spam, but I am sure the chat system here ingame doesn't have all the bells and whistles a normal email client would have... but to slow them down:

1) Name must be a Name, and not gibberish characters. Spam detection enabled.
2) You cannot send a /tell until you are lvl 3 and cant be longer than 5 chars and tie it in to how the game works. How many tells/Time restriction of sending tells apply. Spam detection enabled.
3) You cant send a /tell longer than 10 chars until you reach lvl 4. How many tells/Time restriction of sending tells apply. Spam detection enabled.
4) You cant send a /tell longer than 30 chars until you reach lvl 5. How many tells/Time restriction of sending tells apply. Spam detection enabled.
5) At lvl 6, you can send a normal /tell, however time restrictions still apply. If spam is detected, the time restrictions are longer until you cant send a /tell for a LONG time. Spam detection enabled.

If they limited all characters to 20 tells a min it would cut the rtm buy allot I get tells form same rtm 5-10 in same minute.

To be honest I wish they make it so you could turn off tells form people that are not on your friends list, I would be supper happy

box1 = friends list
box2 = FC members
box3 = lvl 10 and below
box4 = lvl 20 - 30
box4 = lvl 30 - 40
box4 = lvl 40 - 50

Something has to be done about these RTM it seams SE just dont give a crap about us at all when it comes to the RTM's

Everytime i delete 20 RMT from my blacklist it seems i get more /tells, like they didn't even get banned... tbh. Not getting a /tell from a character below lvl 10 doesnt hurt, if they are in one of your LS/FC they can /tell you anyways. And if it is a friend you put them on the friendlist the second they created the character anyways

Yeah, so give us a function where we can automatically decline these too please. When someone gets on my FL i put them there myself anyways

or just limit the /tell per minute to 20 and less... if you send a /tell every 3 seconds as real player you are a real fast typer chatting with maaaany people at once :x

If we could just highlight their name, hit subcommand and report automatically, it would be so much easier. It's such a pain with the current reporting system, they would be easier to ban this way, as opposed to just being b-listed.
