ST is fun

Hey all,

Just wanted to share my experience with this new addition to the Labarynth of the Ancients.

Went in blind last night as PLD after finishing the pre-reqs. I like doing things as tank first for that perspective, I feel it helps to prepare me for when I go in as a DPS or Heals. Anyways, we had one tank that had done it only once. So through out we were learning as we went and it was a blast.

I must say that SE has done it for me with this one. Interesting mechanics, great music, and the place looks amazing. Drops were pretty cool too, 1MNK, 2BLM, 1DRG pieces, as well as the Onion Knight minion and a UAT.

No tank gears and I got none of the final "extra" chest. But had a great time.

Just thought I would share my experience.

they failed on the hunt nm part of the patch, but i agree st was alot of fun, and the 3 new dungeons )

Haven't tried hunt yet, I have my bills just haven't gotten around to them. From what I have read though, they are kindsa ..meh.

Reminiscent of NM hunting in XI, except that it's open tapping as opposed to "claim button" when it pops.

On the fence about it. Hard to say if it's worth it or not. Time spent vs rewards got.

It's the first time that I've had fun in this game in quite a while. Fights are interesting and tough but not impossible, and there doesn't seem to be any more of that 1 dumbass/troll wiping the raid like some bosses had previously.

Honestly they need to design more content like this, I might actually keep renewing my sub if there was more endgame that was relaxing and worthwhile.

they are making leaps and strides in my opinion, this content was huge, hunting can end up being a very good system, and the fights in ST were very good. i wasnt just standing still popping physick the whole time. and savage mode should solve the issue people have with clock-work mechanics.

Syrcus Tower is indeed fun. I enjoyed it. The return of jump pads was a welcome one.

If I had to search for a complaint, it would be that the bosses get less complex and more forgiving as you go in. The order really should have been Amon, Dragonball Z guy, Scylla, Xandes.

The S ranks are fun but the weekly hunt being a squishy B rank is utterly ridiculous.

Yeah, the order was kinda weird to me too with the hardest coordination check being at Scylla.

I'm really enjoying ST myself. Been spamming it to help friends get their drops even though I got mine. ^^

We took quite a long time to kill this boss today and it was chaotic but fun. Several times there were 4 or 5 toads jumping around (plus many dead corpses in the floor, just a few alive and hitting.) I was a BLM and got converted in toad twice. Big red and black toad, jumping away from the snakes, lol.
