    that or add more ways to obtain the allied seals, increase daily rewards as well....think beyond the MINORITY that live in the game 24/7

    I'm beginning to wonder if ANYTHING in this patch was done well. Last night someone in my FC logged off in frustration after three hours of trying to find one of these, only to get there and it's already dead. If something is dead by the time you traverse not even HALF the map, it's broken.

    SE, did you like, forget all the content that people TOLD you they hated? It feels like someone found some ancient folder that had old ideas in it and said yea, let's try these! And it was all ideas that caused launch to fail. So far very, VERY little of this content has turned out to be really fun and accessible to the bulk of the playerbase.

    I am reminded of a mechanic from RIFT.
    Zone Event Bosses had a passive ability that "drained the residual power of surrounding enemies (players)". This basically gave them a stacking buff which increased their HP based on how many players were within a certain (large) radius.
    So if a boss spawned on some remote part of the map, as more and more people flooded in, the boss would get MORE hp to account for the increased total dps, and would keep the kill time, along with the contribution potential fairly constant.

    For this to work "well" in FFXIV, we would need a couple tweaks...

    1. Once ENGAGED, the boss would be MARKED ON THE MAP. So you still need to find it, but you cant "keep it for yourself".

    2. The boss would start off with enough HP that it would take a tank ~10 minutes to solo it.
    Mostly applies to rank B bosses, so one person "can" beat it, but one person cant just steamroll it before anyone else can join in.

    3. The boss would gain an HP increasing stack for EVERY SINGLE PERSON in the "engagement radius".
    So as soon as 1 person engages the boss, it has 1 stack, this would the considered the "baseline" hp.
    As more people arrive, the boss's current and max hp increase, updating every 10 seconds or so.
    I think the ideal implementation of the HP increase would be to raise the max HP, while keeping the current HP PERCENT the same.
    So say we have a boss with 50k starting hp with 1 player stack. Said player gets the boss to 90%, it now has 45k. Then 50 more players pile in, the boss now has 51 stacks, and now has a max hp of say... 200k. Because it WAS at 90%, its current HP after more people arrive will be 90% of its NEW max HP, so 180k after 50 new people join in.

    4. Something of an "anti-trolling mechanic". - An idea, rough implementation.
    So we update the max HP based on the # of nearby people every 10s. This would take the form of a 2 minute buff with N stacks. Lets call this buff "Tenacity".
    Now, IF during some 10s update interval, the # of people in the area is LESS than the current N stacks of "Tenacity", (lets call it M people) we add a new buff "Uncertainty", which has M stacks.
    If M < N, then we dont refresh the 2 minute duration of Tenacity. Once Tenacity wears off, the M stacks of Uncertainty becomes the stack value for Tenacity. - Make sense?

    Basically if a horde of people run by a mark and magically have no intention of killing it, they would buff it to some huge hp for 2 minutes. So it'll have that huge N stack, but only be fighting M people. After 2 minutes, the N stack drops, and the M stack is applied, so the boss got scaled back down BECAUSE it "misinterpreted" the number of active combatants.

    So... aside from #4, 1-3 would serve the make this whole Hunt system a lot more enjoyable.

    Your opinion does not speak for the whole of the "people". Or, did you like, forget that people have been asking for an NM system in this game for months on end? I love the hunts. Part of the fun is getting credit. I got 600 seals, a blood-spattered book drop from an A hunt and over 2500 myth yesterday from hunts. Group up with people. Make friends. Would you rather have a claim system, where you don't even have the chance to tag and just watch someone else get all the reward?

    Your views of the new content seem to be the minority from everyone I have talked to. I mean, Frontlines is even so fun that all of my friends completely forgot about not being able to group with each other if we weren't allied to the same GC. And the PvP rewards are so substantial that people will probably not have as much of a problem with switching GC's, even if they have worked on their PvP rank before 2.3


    Seriously, this post just sounds like your just mad because you can't find a full party to hunt NM's and are now blasting all of the content. What is this ancient folder you speak of? Switching CT2 to only need 1 tank so more DPS get quick queues? Sounds progressive to me. Tougher mechanics in the new dungeons and better music? A viable open-world way to match coil progression for casuals, as long as you have friends? Making PvP viable by adding tomestone drops and making Morale a non-factor? Giving FC's a reason to do things together in the open-world? Tons more minions/vanity/glamour/craft recipes? You can even get MYTH gear with Hunt marks now!!! We helped a newer guy in my FC go from ilvl 47-83 yesterday. Just with hunts.


    What is ancient about all of this?


    Roll a bard, gear it quick with hunt marks, get in a full party, tag B marks with instants/GCD and you will get full reward every time.

    Isnt this EXACTLY what people were asking for with NM's? Some rare exclusive monster that is basically a first come first served reward? What am I missing?

    I give hunts a C/C- score. It is a move in the right direction. But the mindless zerg mechanics need to go away.

    And no these are not what the people asking for nms wanted. It is the closest content we have to them, but they are still in the end no different then fates.

    If they were NMS once they were hit no one else would be able to attack until the claiming party/alliance died.

    Yep NM can't be shared. Hunts are not NMs. Hunts are a worse version of FATES.
