I have to disagree with the OP as well, personally I like that crafting mats drop in dungeons. Given how easy the dungeons are I would rather not see any drops aside from crafting mats and vanity gear in them. Also, you get both mythology and soldiery tomes from these dungeons so I really don't see what the point of whining about drops is. If your point is that you had bad luck and didn't get the vanity gear you wanted in a handful of runs then sorry but that's just life. You'll be running those dungeons for the next 3 months so you'll have plenty of time to get your vanity gear.

Additionally, almost all of the mats that are used in i70 crafted gear are worth 2-4k on my server. I'm sorry if the prices on your server are different but I would rather not see the crafting mats in dungeons disappear myself.

Im torn on this. On one hand I like monies... so mats are ok. But on the other I'd like to vanity with the gear. The new players are screwed because of this is kinda silly. They could get all i90 myth gear in a few hours now if they wanted. Times have changed. But still... new gear is cool to see.

    Funny. They're not pointless entirely.

But perhaps maybe if they took them out of the probability of dropping, you would see more of your own gear drop more frequently right?

Do you remember what kind of MMOJRPG you're playing?

A little off-topic, but people already doing speed run in Stone Vigil HM because pointless drops? I do not manage to keep tank alive in speed run and was kicked today. Then I catch other party speed run and also die. But then we were slowly until the end.

I guess running a dungeon 3-5 times for a piece of gear doesn't equate to running dungeons 3-5 times to get enough tomes to buy gear... *Bangs head against desk*.

Edit: Forgot to note run 3-5 times for a piece of i80 gear vs the i90 from tomes.

I kind of agree with OP. I understand why SE wants to include crafting mats, and for the most part I don't mind them. But it would be nice if we didn't get quite so much of them. I leveled up my character after 2.2, so I didn't get the opportunity to buy Darklight with Philo tomes, and it was murder gearing up for coil when drops were so scarce. Honestly, I would much prefer if they put the mats in the lower ilvl dungeons like WP, AK, Haukke HM, Copperbell HM and Pharos Sirius, because the lvl 60 items are almost pointless at this point. It would give people an added bonus to running these dungeons.

Crafting mats along with the new gear is incredibly annoying.

I agree with this completely. I was so irritated to see almost *no* drops in 2.2. I think I can count the number of actual loot I've seen in dungeons drop on one hand, ever since 2.2. It's ridiculous. I've literally taken to using my tomes on my alt classes simply because I can't count on dungeons to actually gear them up at all. Crafting items belong in treasure coffers if you're so determined to stick them in the dungeons, bosses need to be dropping actual LOOT.

Hell it's bad enough as a healer how little gear drops when the items are guaranteed, never mind hoping against hope you don't get some useless filtered water instead of any item at all.

Put the mats in the side chests, they already get ignored by most groups I run with, so it'll give us a reason to open them.
This looks contradictory. If you don't want mats, of course you wouldn't want to open the side chests that only have mats. Most people don't want mats, and roll greed and use the gear or mats to sell them, or roll pass. Side chests would remain unopened probably.

About Darklight gear, before 2.2 you needed many weeks of capping myth tomes to get the ilvl90 myth gear, and in the meantime you had bought Darklight gear for several classes with the philosophy tomes. They changed that, introduced new ilvl70 gear, and eliminated the philosophy tomes so that Darklight is not that easy to obtain. The dropped gear from the dungeons is either very temporary, since you will easily have something better, or you want it for vanity or collection. Making vanity a bit difficult or requiring grinding doesn't seem that bad to me (maybe because I don't focus on that.)

But at the same time mythology tomes have become easier to obtain and with no weekly cap, CT has no weekly cap nor Coil, so gearing up is much easier.

Things change so much: having the Darklight gear like most not too advanced level 50 players was not cool in 2.1, and now that nobody wears Darklight some people want to vanity it.
