Plea from Free Company Leaders

* As of patch 2.3, free company members who have purchased private chambers cannot be discharged from the free company. This will be addressed in a future update, so as private chambers will be vacated automatically upon discharging.

I have a request for an immediate solution, but please allow me to explain why this is so important.

I am the FC Leader for the largest guild on server on Gilgamesh, and this has caused me unbearable amounts of stress. Guilds are a community endeavor. If a Free Company has a bad egg, it ruins the experience for the rest of the players. Players drop off the game, leave to other guilds, have a bad taste in their mouth for racial slurs or attacks against our own guild charters, any of these things. We exist for the social experience and this destroys the leadership's capacity to moderate those awful players and retain our good ones.

My specific guild is a social casual guild for LGBT people, one of the largest in the world. We experience racism, homophobia, sexism, all sorts of issues in online gaming everywhere and we found a safe zone for ourselves. The need is great, because we held record for the world's large World of Warcraft guild anywhere across the entire planet on every server before they enforced the cap (but we're still huge across countless guilds) Our problem is that players love big guilds and lots of resources, so unfortunately one or two bad eggs manage to get through the cracks. We experience nasty players who tarnish our reputation and make players no longer feel welcome in an MMO. As leadership, it's our job to foster the community.

From what I understand on these patch notes, Square-Enix has broken our capacity to moderate. We cannot discharge bad players who are negatively influencing good players with subscriptions once they purchase a personal room for a measly 300,000. We are no longer capable of moderation and players have a way to pay their way out of bad behavior. We still cannot silence players in FC actions by demoting them in rank, so whatever hateful speech or negativity they hold is still broadcasted in our chats. They have immunity.

I am pleading that, while this is a complicated issue, to rush an emergency fix to allow FC leaders to demote players in rank to no longer speak in FC chat. I know that housing is a very complicated issue and one requiring a lot of thought, but we as guild leaders need to be able to stop these people from ruining our reputation. We need them silenced within our own community to retain our own players and take away their resources for hate speech. Don't let them ruin us from the inside.

If you won't let us kick out the bad eggs yet, at least please let us silence them in an emergency patch.

I second this notion...i had i issue not long ago that pissed me off so much i acted an ass in front of my fc out of anger. All of this could have been avoided had i just been given the ability to ban them from fc chat or even better kick them out immediately. I knew this was gonna be an issue from the get go and the person actually refused to leave until i refunded them all the gil they THOUGHT they deserved. Also if people have stabled their chocobos they can't be removed either. I feel like that mother on the muary show that is powerless to her out of control teenager. I just gotta sit their while they ruin my reputation and make a smack fool out of themselves. I'm sorry but SE really did us a disservice by not allowing us to control WHO gets to buy a fc room and not allowing us to kick them immediately. I feel the lesser of two evils is allowing that person to be kicked by fc leader and risk losing all. Or at least let their items be retrievable or remain intact once they join a new fc.
