PS3 freezing at random intervals since patch update

After the patch, I unlocked most of the new content just fine. Within Syrcus Tower, I managed to get to Scylla with little to no perceptible lag with full graphics.

About mid way through that battle, my PS3 began to freeze. I turned down the graphics, figuring this would solve the issue. It continued to freeze. I gave up on ST - left and began working on the new Main Story questline.

However, my PS3 froze again speaking to an NPC, and again still just running along through Central Thanalan.

My system itself is working fine. It runs every other game, app, and the browser I have opened without issue, so I figure this has to be an FFXIV problem.

Any other PS3 users experiencing this same problem?

An update.

After much experimentation, it appears that freezing only occurs when I am engaging in new content. Even the freeze running through Thanalan happened during the 2.3 Main Story quests.

Disappointing, to say the least, but I am going to see if I can reinstall and fix the issue.
