My fc and I would like to celebrate the summer in some yukatas:

This likely won't be coming this year, but probably next year! The reason being that their focus has been on getting patch 2.3 ready (which was already behind schedule) so I suspect they haven't put much focus into seasonal events

Yea we haven't had a seasonal event since what the hatching tide? They were pretty frequent before so this is rather disappointing　(´・ω・`)

Tis a shame really, apprently they are quite sought after. I used to have it as part of my glamour set and people were like "OMG HOW DID YOU GET THAT YUKATA!!! D:" lol

Yeah, I was really hoping they would bring them back sooner but I think they will probably make a new event next month and add the yukatas as a bonus?

Um, I highly doubt that. They do patches every 3 months so its not a case of 'dont have time for events'. The summer event is generally august, and they made it sound last year that they would rotate which gear we could get from it. 2011 was swimsuits, 2012 yukatas, 2013 swimsuits again with some new ones, this year should be yukatas again with some new ones.

Although I wish they'd also do something like the original event, where we could have a desktop made of our characters wearing the event gear with a background and pose of our choosing
