Looking to transfer servers, does Leviathan fit? (Long but Please Help)

    Hey guys,

As the title says, I'm trying to choose a server to transfer to. So far, I've got my eyes on Levi, Faerie, and Malboro, however if you think there's a server for me that's better, feel free to say so (I don't bite :3)

There are multiple reasons why I want to leave Diabolos. The end game progression for the server is extremely lackluster. Only a small handful of fcs have even managed to reach SCoB and most of the time they're a closed group. Most other people in the server lean towards the casual side, which is not a bad thing, however, I personally have been stuck in the t5 pug scene and more often than not, people don't tend to try to improve in diabolos. I'm not trying to say people in diabolos are bad (I love the community and I've made connections with the server), it's just that from what I've seen, there aren't that many people who are looking to move forward into endgame.

Party finder tends to be very bad in diabolos. Usually in the mornings, you might be lucky to see 3 groups in pf. At peak hours, the pf barely gets to 8-10, and there are moments where not a single group is in pf (Note that this also occurs on weekend nights). Alot of the groups are also BF SR or one time clear groups on primals (that more often than not fail). It's very common to see someone completely new to a dungeon join a "farm group" via pf, or even people who have cleared join a "clear group" and not try because they've already cleared it. I don't doubt that this is also occurring on other servers, but at this point I'd rather take my chances with another server than sticking to the current diabolos pf.

The community scene also seems to be inactive. Now I know people are friendly when you get to know the smaller groups/people within Diabolos, but the community just doesn't seem active in the bigger picture. This one time, I was sitting in the middle of Mor Dhona and was afk for like a few hours to do real life stuff, there was virtually no /shout or /say, and pretty much the only thing that was in chat was from my fc (and the billions of gold spammers that seem to be plaguing diabolos).

Also, the age is something that kinda bothers me. Most people I know in game are between the ranges of late 20s - 40s. I'm currently half a year off 18. It's not that I don't like playing with people who are that much older than me (I've made quite a few connections and most of them are in that range), however I would prefer if more people were closer to my age. If there's an fc in this server that is roughly around that age and is focused on end game progression while still having a community side, hit me up sometime

Now the reason Leviathan is one of the potential servers I have chosen is that pretty much anyone in my server (and online) says that Leviathan is one of the best lategame progression servers. I'm hoping that there will be more lategame oriented people in Leviathan, as well as more opportunities to join Statics and SCoB since most decent groups in diabolos are closed.

However, my concern with leviathan is that the server is too systematic and non-communal. I do enjoy being able to progress to end game however I wouldn't like it if people were constantly comparing each other's dpses and "whoever contributed the most" in random pug groups. In Statics and SCoBs I would definately encourage it, however I would prefer there to be a more friendly, non-systematic community.

Sorry for having the post be so long, however it's a big decision for me to leave the well knit fc that I currently am and transfer to a new server, so I just wanted to make sure that I am making the right decision by doing so.

To address your concerns, there is a fairly active community on Leviathan. Groups in partyfinder range from 7 to 26 groups, with peaks at 9pm EST to 12pm EST. There are still gilspammers, but you will see a number of players shouting for atma/novus groups and more colorful comments throughout the maps.

Partyfinder has a couple groups recruiting for t6+ statics, although there is a large emphasis placed on ilvl. It's no surprise that many of the partyfinder groups are focused on extreme primals, speedruns, atma and gear farms. Also, some players will run a parse but will not openly mention it on the game chat. The current parsers in use read data directly from the game, and is technically a violation of the EULA designed to prevent datamining (how do you think goldsellers get your char names). If you ask for a dps number, they may give it and may give you some helpful advice and tips.

I think there's a relatively large community of players pushing t6+ and the new content. I still wouldn't call them the majority of the server, but there is a degree of elitism in PUGs, and this is shown explicitly by ilvl requirements for some pf groups. Overall, I'd say you won't have any problems transitioning if you've cleared your ex primals, have a i95+ weapon, and are ready to push in to t6. If those are a little short, you won't be the only ones on the server and you'll be able to find groups for t6 still, but I wouldn't count on joining an established static. Some groups may invite you if they see you're a reliable player it or have exemplary skill, but that'll require some networking on your part. A simple glance and ilvl check won't reveal those qualities.

Alright, thank you for your response. I'll take what you said into consideration when making my decision.
