Implement a system to stop withdrawal abuse in the duty finder (mainly for frontlines

Waiting for 72/72 to come for 30 mins with trolls spamming withdraw the second it comes is really annoying. Players are and have been abusing the withdraw system for months now just to troll others. With the 72 confirms needed for frontlines its just completely out of hand.

Please implement some sort of punishment for those who withdraw from the same queue multiple times. Something like... if you withdraw or fail to confirm from the queue twice, then are locked out for 30 mins. It's drastic, but it is needed. People will abuse this to troll others unless there is a punishment to stop them, because people are trolls. Please take measures to put and end to this.

Also, it would be really good if you could hide how many members are waiting to confirm. Theres little reason for you to know this, and seeing it only encourages to trolls to withdraw when it's on high 60's 70's.

Here's the solution, prevent people from using In-Progress for Frontlines and it's all fixed. Why you even have that option is beyond me. Now you have people aiming for a quick win/rewards.

I'm sure the amount of actual trolling done is minimal, and it's more the amount of people thinking it all takes too long or having run out of time by the time the queue finally fills up, thus leaving.

You cant punish 71 people that may have other ingame plans or statics because of one bad apple leaving over and over. If you absolutely -have- to implement something, make it so that you cannot leave a queue more than once a minute.

i posted a better implementation in another thread but i'll requote it here because i dont feel like retyping it

The problem with Enix's queuing system is it finds and puts on hold certain players first which caters to trolls and pop cancels because its relying on those players to ready up. If their system made the queue pop so whoever doesnt click (based on an internal time clock we can't see), it cancels for only those bros who didnt accept and just re-rolls their spot to the next eligible player to accept. Basically, a hidden rolling queue system that initially pops for everyone and then whoever doesnt click Commence, in 10-15 seconds, it will just re-roll to the next bro rather than forcing all 72 players to redo the entire Commencement. Re-commencing only increasing the chances that some other bro is just not going to click either. This method would avoid individuals from ruining the queue for everyone.

Frankly, if you set to que, you should be locked into que'ing. When I get an instance to pop and I see withdraws, I always think, "Why did you que if you're not going to do the dungeon/fight/etc.?"

It should be that once you sign up for something, you're locked into the que instance. No withdraw, just an accept/close window. Even keep the 45 second accept timer, maybe shorten it to 20 seconds.

DON'T SIGN UP IF YOU'RE NOT GOING TO DO SOMETHING. HOW SIMPLE IS THAT? Gets rid of trolls AND gets you into the dungeon you want. And if you're going to complain that "Oh I was in que but something else I wanted to do came up," well tough shit. Make up your mind about what you're going to do and stick with it. Tired of people wasting my time and other people's time.

The issue with that line of thinking is, and I'm bad about thinking this as well - people get pulled away from the computer or get trapped in combat and are unable to queue. My suggestion in another thread would resolve the issue

Agreed this is very aggravating. In Syrcus tower queue someone did this for approximately 15 minutes the other night trying to skip fights for final boss. If you decline DF you need to be locked out same as leaving the dungeon.

Personally I think if you withdraw you should be given an hour lockout and if you leave the actual instance it should be a two hour lockout. 30 minutes is not enough.

This thread needs sent to the mods and plastered on 100 different sticky notes on every single desk in Square's office.

There is absolutely no reason why you should be able to immediately re-queue for the same thing after backing out. End of story.

Square did everything right with Frontlines to make it popular. They made PvE gear relevant on release. It gives a decent sum of Wolf Marks to work towards actual PvP gear down the road along with Solidery and Myth tomes. They even implemented a rather low item level ceiling.... Then shot themselves in the foot and head by hampering with it with their trademarked "all or nothing" queue system.

For as popular as this seems to be, the queue time should be less than 5 minutes. Instead, it's 30+ minutes because of a couple of choice griefers. Fix this, Square.

Just going to post this here as well, since I noticed it after my original post in the pvp forums.

My suggestion would be "Queue locks" like all other games there should be a MINIMUM entry value. If 24+ people are queued up, and have locked in their queue, they should be entered into the arena.(more can join, during the "waiting period" to reach the cap.) This will also encourage players that WANT to actually do frontlines to queue without worries. Now if those "trolls" or people whose houses are burning down, and have to leave their computer for more than... lets say 2mins?(Like in arena) Should be removed like Normal, and given the 30 min lockout.(This will then help deter trolls, and well people that don't actually have the time to participate.) I know there is still the issue of people taping their controller or keyboard to move forward, to reset the timer. But thats where they have the "Have to engage" or you get removed in 30secs etc. Or the old WoW "Report afk" (which I hated, but helped.)

It's safe to assume there will be some upset people with legit reasons for afking, but again back to my first point "You should not be queuing up for something if you don't have the time to dedicate to whatever it is you're doing" And if you actually had a legit reason for walking away from your computer for more than 2 mins, then the lockout should not affect you, as it should take more than 30mins to do whatever it is you had to do. ie. House burning down prob take a bit more than 30mins, and a game should be the least of your worries.

I've also seen suggestions of removing the queue counter, so not to enable those trolls as much... But thats a small temp fix? that could possibly help.

Ya I'm done. I'm not going to resub to this game until there is a hot fix to the DF that adds a lockout timer to people who decline a queue. It was fairly annoying for dungeons and what not when tanks/healers didn't get the instant queue they wanted but this is asinine. Frontlines is just popping over and over again and people decline. I try to wonder why anyone would queue for it only to immediately decline but then I realize they are just trolling the queue. So ya, I'm done, later SE.
