Keep saving. The mediums at their lowest price aren't much more than the smalls at full. They'll be at minimum at the end of the month. It's unfortunate that there are so many selfish people solo buying GUILD housing.

It's unfortunate that there aren't better options for those people who want to utilize the benefits of housing. When (if) player housing comes and is implemented properly (lol) we will see lots less of that sort of thing. If SE is smart they will give those players an option to trade-in their current "group" house for their personal house in whatever other place it ends up being.

But yea, whole thing from beginning to end just wasn't even remotely thought out.

Yeah, and we're really a small group (3 friends, with a 4th logging in rarely because of his job), we started saving when housing first came out, and up to this day our efforts rewarded us with slightly over 5M, so you can see it'd be hard for us to manage medium or large houses. We can't do endgame/sell runs, so I don't really know how to make money faster than that. I could try, but I am afraid I'll end up spending my whole days farming/crafting soullessly without enjoying the game only to end up finding myself with no medium houses left to buy >_<...

That and, I don't know, even IF we were able to afford a medium house, would it be fair for a 3/4 people group to have one? Wouldn't it be more proper to let a larger group have it? The idea if stealing space to more worthy groups makes me feel bad.

You're not stealing anything. If you can afford to get it, you deserve to have it. Honestly, I would be more worried about losing the house and plot if none of your 4 members are able to visit it in a 35-day span (which is coming in the next update).

Honestly, I agree with that feature... I think houses should go to who would actually use them often and not unsubscribe for so long.... I do hope the feature is implemented soon, maybe then some plot will free for me and my friends.

Lol, after a lot of debate, we decided that we might've coped with a Gridania cottage, only to find out that Gridania's S houses were all taken as well.

We are a botanists/gardening enthusiast FC, so Ul'dah is out of question. I guess we'll have to wait for the next boat.

I feel your pain Bluevaan - my FC on Ridill has been scraping and saving since housing was first released, but because we're only a small FC we decided to just settle on a small house instead of a medium, and even then were only just managed to grab a small lot in Ward 6 of the Lavender Beds. Ironically there are still a few medium lots in the Lavander Beds left - everyone seemed to be after the small lots for some reason - they're all bought up.

I've heard rumours that there are splinter groups from one ls in different Fcs all conspiring to buy up land before others could and then not doing anything with it, simply to spite other players, but I have no idea if that is true or not (which would be a breach of the Terms of Service if it's indeed true). Given the fact how quickly blocks were being snapped on Ridill, I'm likely to believe it.

If even a group of 8 people had been contributing money they get from daily dungeons over the last 6 months, they'd have enough for a small house. That makes pretty much every FC a realistic contender for small plots.

Well, it's 4-4.9 millions for a small plot on Balmung (or was. There's no one left now), plus a 1M for the permit, I believe. Maybe we're doing it wrong, but 4.8M was all we could make in these months. Again, we don't do endgame since we're a DoL-dedicated FC, so we can't make money selling primal runs or whatever it is other FCs do.

Gathering items, crafting, and selling is all we have been doing.

If someone can share a way to make faster money to afford a medium house (33M and up), advice is more than welcome; but please don't talk like we didn't try. We were all looking forward to the chocobo training content for this patch.
