If you un-build it, they will come.

been getting the clear lvl 2's from mid level cooking desynth leveling was just curious where others came fromand if any use for the clears at all.
I didn't get any field/battlecraft demimateria when desynthing stuff that was about ilvl 30 or below, but when I started doing some that were ilvl 36-37 I started seeing tier 1's, and when I did some that were ilvl 45 I saw a few tier 2's. No tier 3's yet though. I saw mostly the fieldcrafts on weaver tools and battlecraft on some regular combat styled rings that I was desynthing.
From my observations:
Desynthing ilvl ?-49 items can give Demimateria I. Items on the higher end of that (45-49?) yield two Demimateria Is instead of one.
Desynthing ilvl 55 items can give Demimateria II. I have never gotten a Demimateria II from anything below ilvl 55. Usually, when you get Demimateria IIs from ilvl 55s, you get two of them, but sometimes you get one.
When you desynth a DoW/DoM item and get (non-clear) Demimateria, it's always Battlecraft.
When you desynth a DoL/DoH item and get (non-clear) Demimateria, it's always Fieldcraft.
Clear Demimateria is like the Allagan pieces, only sellable to NPCs for gil.
I have never seen a Demimateria III, but I assume it's received from ilvl 70+ items, or maybe ilvl 90+. I'm not sure. I have NO IDEA how to get the Fieldcraft Demimateria IIIs as the only crafter/gatherer items above ilvl 55 are the Artisan/Foragers items.
I have no idea how to get the Matercraft Demimateria.
Tonight, I'll try desynthing my Artisan Spectacles, assuming GSM can do it, and see what happens. It's not like 10 HQ Spicy Tomato Relish is really that hard to make.
So far, I have not noticed a difference between desynthing NQ and HQ items, nor between 100% spiritbonded and 0% spiritbonded. Someone please tell us if you notice a difference when desynthing spiritbonded, melded, and/or HQ items!

Fieldcraft Demimateria comes from DoL/DoH tools/armor/accessories.
Battlecraft Demimateria comes from DoW/DoM weapons/shield/armor/accessories.
They become more frequent when breaking item level 30+ things, but I got my 1st one from a lv26 tool.
It may have been just my luck, but green icon gear from dungeons usually yielded Battlecraft Demimateria for me. 2 pieces from 1 green icon item and it was item level 30-ish.
how do you unlock the new recipe books?
Hi, forgive my ignorance, but what is demimateria used for? :-)
Demimater is used for new crafts and unlooking the new recipt books (5 Fieldcraft I Demimateria + 5 Battlecraft I Demimateria per book) as well as the new Tools for crafters and gatherers 3 Mastercraft demimateria
