LOLthisthread. The Dubont's popularity has skyrocketed on Figaro because of this.
So yes, the changes implemented were big. And it was a good thing. Frankly I'm loving the game with more content now and we've seen people constantly online now doing more things on the server. What also makes a good player is the ability to adapt to sudden changes, either gameplay and most definitely game mechanics.
We've been asking YoshiP for months to stop the hand holding and give us content that we'll have to seriously think about. Dungeons are not that hard, just think outside the box. Take a look at placement and reevaluate skills and abilities.... level up more jobs to get more skills! I'm just now getting done my 9th R50 job and #10, 11, 12 coming up close behind. This is also a very similar scenario for the rest of my linkshell. This planning also goes into why we now love the new repair system. I carry mats for arrows for my group that I can make on the spot, and full stacks of Grade 4 and 5 dark matter. Only thing I cant repair is Weaver and Leather which several others can repair.
The enmity issues and hate issues are easily fixable with abilities. If you don't have those abilities then start leveling those jobs up. Before the release of FFXIV it was stated that people will level multiple jobs to get more abilities to make things easier. This is of course an MMO and like all MMO's the sure way to get people to play the longest is to make your player base grind on end for some kind of progress/goal which in this case are those abilities.
Have you actually seen the effects of STR and DEX? If you think they actually do nothing then you need to actually test a bit more. Just because someone tested that HP and MP increases stop at 174 stat points doesn't mean everything else does nothing. I've seen sure differences in STR and DEX and PIE. Its the reason I run dungeons with full STR rings now on Archer.
In my opinion FFXIV needed these kinds of changes to force people to learn and not just cure bomb with no side effect... Who really used chameleon before 1.18 anyways? Enmity management was nonexistent before this patch...
The dungeons are not hard... you and you're linkshell just need to re-evaluate apparently everything.
